today i saw a tarnhelm socketed with a pruby on us east classic ladder .....anyone got a clue on how this happened?
i havent seen others myself but i know of twitches and other soketed too
2 days ago never heard of it .. but its all the latest rage now

SoJ + Unique => Socketed Unique

I think it works for any item.

It's an act 5 glitch in classic diablo. They're using the idea of forgotten sands exploit then teleporting back to act 5. Although I have no evidence of backing up my statement, that's the rumor I heard around D2jsp.

Edit: By the way, Soj + unique = doesn't work on classic.

also if it helps i have heard talk of act and also of RedVex

I'm pretty sure that there are no socketed uniques on classic. The formula to add sockets for an item is like; PSkulls+Rare+soj= Socketed rare. And yes I have played classic before.

Rare Items can only have one socket. You cannot add sockets to items that don't normally have sockets. You can not use this on a Rare with one socket. You can only add one socket to a zero socket Rare Item.

the duriel mod would not work for this, because don't you need to be in a5 to do it, and having frigid wp was necessary i think.

Its just the matter of editing the patch_d2.mpq and sending packets that gets you into the forgotten sand by modifying the waypoint. Though, its essential that you have the canyon of the magi waypoint in act 2 in order for this to work. I'm not an expert at this stuff, so if you need a more precise explanation, let someone like Frater with his superior knowledge clarify and deconstruct what you are not understanding. I'm sure he can do it, right?

How the hell do you think you're going to incorporate an entire new act into a game that didn't have it before? Makes sense? You're right, no it doesn't.

edit: I just decided to download this almighty classic -> expansion wonder, so here is the readme for you:

The Frigid Highlands Waypoint is replaced with Forgotten Sands.

This works in all difficulties. Only Hell drops a Baal's Eye.


Replace The Patch_d2.mpq In your Diablo II Folder with the one provided.
I suggest renaming your original so you can easily revert.

Hurry Up and stock up on Baal's Eyes before this gets patched. Clearing this in a Hell
game with 8 people also gives much more experience than a full baal run. Its quick too.

Stone of Jordan and an unique item in the horadic cube does not give the item a socket on classic, whereas it only works with only rare items. Thats why I said you were wrong. Now I got the evidence to prove you wrong, again.

If you have Lord of Destruction installed, why the hell you wouldn't have act 5 installed as well? For your information, it's not "incorporating" an entire new act. Act 5 is just disabled for classic. If you does not have Lord of Destruction installed, that would be a different story.

u can get act 5 in classic with the duriel exploit and an extra dll
u can do the quest ofc too but dont always earn the runes and so on cause they dont exists on classic
but u should be able to make anya quest too and get the resis scroll Wink
