Post your opinions about him. Personally I think he really is a guitar god, his music is good, and he has some what inspired the way I play, but I know some people don't like him at all. So just put your opinions I would like to learn what people dislike.

Guitar god? I think thats a bit far. I don't listen to him. But I've heard him. I'm not being bias at all, but... I even heard him say it himself that he possesses no advanced logic of scales of theory. I think calling John Mayer a "guitar god" would be a put down to real guitar talents like Yngwie and Vai. Aside from that, John Mayer must have some talent, he's a freakin millionaire so obviously enough people like him.

I see what your saying about knowledge of scales and music theory. But then again, music theory is what you think sounds good. My reason being is that he is a guitar god in his style and feeling of music, which is a more modern Jazz. Meaning it does not put down who you mentioned, because they are also guitar gods in their style. Thanks for the insight.
