StarCraft Patch 1.15
We will be releasing Patch 1.15 for StarCraft within the next few weeks. This patch introduces new functionality to Battle.net that allows players to organize and join custom StarCraft leagues. These leagues support stat-tracking, custom icons, and replay uploading, among other features. Check out the StarCraft LDK page for more information.

Myself and a bunch of real-life friends will be starting a Starcraft league upon release of patch 1.15. Anyone on the site is welcome to play with us. We are mostly old-school players that have been playing on and off since release. Some of us are great, but none of us are bad.
The only thing we ask is to not give the league/clan a bad name. Don't be more rude than I am (hard to do anyway, not worth trying) and make an effort to be a talented player. Members are asked to read the StarCraft Compendium and be aware of the effects of different unit sizes, different damage types and the advantages and disadvantages of cover and high ground.
Players are asked to visit TeamLiquid (News) to watch replays to learn new strategies to help other league members. Remember, the League is a team and is expected to act as such. Less than desirable behavior will be dealt with accordingly.

Cool, I have a long holiday coming up and this is something that I might be interested in. I've never played Starcraft on American servers though, is latency a massive issue in Starcraft? I mainly play on LAN and Hamachi with a few friends. I'm not great, but I love the game and have been playing it on-off for years, so I wouldn't mind picking it up again.

You're more than welcome to play with us... you're likely at the same level. I haven't played seriously in a long time either.
Latency isn't SO SO bad. It's mostly just finding a person that can make a game everyone can join. I'm not sure why, but I'm usually unable to create games for my friends... but if one of them creates then it's NP. Probably just my router...
EDIT: Cool, found out what Hamachi is. I have it installed. My network is called Pantallica. Password is 1.

Actually the LAG is ... really never a problem
I mean I know people that play on Dial up and they never lag as long as no one rips the cord out.
But you can just drop the laggers anyway.
If you would like you can tag along with me I can teach you some things to get to a good enough status were you wont be called a "nub"
