You looking for good PCI cards? I would personally go with any ati radeon brand video card. They have always held out for me and have played all games and I ran with good FPS. At any rate I would suggest upgrading your motherboard to get more expensive cards.

To be honest motherboards are really all the same for me. 4 slot ram is all i really look for but if you want a brand i like you should go with a soltek mainboard.

nvidia has more powerful cards for the money, if you are on a budget a 7600GS is decent enough, but if you have the money an extra 20 or 30 bucks adds alot with a 7900GS, these are cost friendly solutions.

make sure you know if you use AGP or PCI express graphics.

5200 seems fine for games, i have that installed on my other computer. but try the next... 6600

need suggestions - The Mob - 05-14-2007

go with pci express. they are getting cheaper and cheaper, not to mention that agp is slowly being phased out. it all depends on what you want to do.

need suggestions - Smithy18 - 05-14-2007

how do i find out whether its PCI or AGP?

need suggestions - Doom - 05-15-2007

Hmmm you open up your computer and look on the card. Otherwise you tell me what kind of card you have? Or you look on your motherboard and see if your computer has agp or pci slots

what how many mbs are on your video card?
i dont think you need to upgrade, unless your thinking about running fear/hl2 etc etc

need suggestions - Smithy18 - 05-15-2007

umm its got 256mb yeh i wanna upgrade cause i got some games off a mate and wanna try them out, i can run them but they not playable plus it will be better upgrading now save me the trouble later and also i got some cash on me atm which i don't normally have.

need suggestions - skidude - 05-16-2007

to upgrade to pci-e u would have to upgrade memory/mobo/ cpu/ video card

need suggestions - Smithy18 - 05-16-2007

why would i have to upgrade memory and cpu?
i can't even think what memory means atm Sad

need suggestions - The Mob - 05-16-2007

wait why would he? true it would be better, but he is using a 478. there are some pci-e boards that still use 478. not alot but some. switching to a LGA 775 would be better in the long run though

need suggestions - afro_box - 05-16-2007

What processor do you have?? That's the main thing for the mobo. Upgrade to a XFX 6800 PCI-E, if you can. DDR3 memeory.
