I believe I did start in 1.09, but it was closer to the ending. I've gone along with the patches and it was ok, but due to a lack of work (and players mindsets on the game) I have moved onto mods [read: Median 2008] to get some new gameplay squeezed out of this old game.

haha i'm a first timer. was around in 06 when using zons was the right thing to do. using white rings and hexes would make u invincible. the more recent patches all suck

Yea also remember pre-1.10 although never really had a problem with any patches just went with the flow.
Although the duping got outa-control at the end of 1.10 with high runes.

1.10 was probably the most fun I had with the game. It was just right in how long it took to get good, currency, people and everything. I didn't play 09 very much.

Why do you guys love .09 so much? What's so fun about a game that you can hack to make uber items and become rich in an instant and kill things without trying? At least without bugged items all over the place the game can be a challenge like it's supposed to be.

Remember the teleport in town hack? I dunno when that was patched though, because I bought this game as soon as it came out. Sorcs could teleport in town.
