Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Blue - 07-11-2007 i went and saw the first showing of this movie. i camped out 5 hours (waited in a line inside the theater) to see this bitch and it doesn't fill up till like 9:30. that may have to do with the location and it being a relatively new theater. but all in all, it was a great movie. felt a little rushed to me. Now all i have to do is wait till the 21st for the book. so... your thoughts on the movie? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Ares - 07-11-2007 You actually camped?.. Dang.. ![]() Well I guess I can be proud to I was the first person to see Fantastic 4 the first one first season first person in theatre, I didnt camp or anything we just made it that early haha ![]() So is the movie REALLY good? or no Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - FrogMan - 07-11-2007 Although i would like to see the movie its not really the high on my list. But I am interested to know if its anygood? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Pamela - 07-12-2007 Frog I heard it was pretty good...but I am the *book nerd* type and I have not seen the movie, and prefer to read about it first. This is also not too high on my priority list, and the only movie I EVER waited extensively in a line for was Jaws...the origional...my sister shared a seat with me and screamed bad things at the shark. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Blue - 07-12-2007 the movie is great frog and ares. i say so myself, but if you never read the books, you may get lost, cause i felt it was rushed. aparently it was originally 3+ hours long, so they had to shorten it. too bad, maybe the dvd might have the extended version. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - Halcyon - 07-12-2007 It was too short. About the same time as the first book's movie when this one is more than twice the pages. They missed a lot of the minute details and didn't really give you chance to hate Dolores as much as you did in the book. Pity, I wanted to enjoy watching her be tortured. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - jedimaster86 - 07-12-2007 I'm seeing it (hopefully) this Saturday so I'll have to get back to you on this one. We didn't think we wanted to go to the midnight show because we didn't want little kids kicking our seats and yelling Unforgivable Curses or whatever - not like it still won't probably be crowded come Saturday. Oh, and this is just like a side-note (dealing with Deathly Hallows, not the 5th movie), since probably people watching this movie will read the 7th book, but please do not post spoilers or you will incur the wrath of the Mod Squad. Anywho, back to the discussion of the movie for all... EDIT: Ok saw the movie yesterday; I'm too lazy to write something new so I'll just copy/paste what I wrote on Flixster. Quote:Yet another good Harry Potter movie - like there are any bad? I will have to say that they really seemed to stray away from the book on this one. I know the book was too long and detailed to portray on film so I understand some (aka many) details had to be negated. Also, they really seemed to want to drive the point of Umbridge being a...nasty piece of work...home. To me, she seemed even worse in the movie. Finally, school seems to become less and less important in the movies as they barely show any education (the DA seems to be the most they learn, but I'll agree it was probably the most important). On the bright side, I think one of the new actors, Evanna Lynch as Luna, did an excellent job - she really fits the personality of "Loony" Lovegood. Also, the battle scenes at the end were fantastic - very spectacular. Overall, another well-done harry Potter film; just don't expect it to be just like the book. |
