Well.. it'd ruin many characters.
On my personal note. I think that anyone who uses dropmod is a noob among noobs =P
Because they can't get there items themselves.
I have never met someone who uses a dropmod, and I have never used one.

Which are you talking about? A dropHACK is different from a dropMOD. I don't really know anything about drophacks, but I thought they are some kind of hack that makes people drop gear or I don't even know. A dropmod, on the other hand, is a modified version of Diablo 2 that makes monsters drop a lot more goodies (usually dropmods make it so uniques/sets/rares are dropping like crazy). Dropmods cannot be used on closed b.net, and they are only usable in open b.net (which you'd either be by yourself or play with others that have the same exact dropmod installed) or single player.

In general, mods are not illegal or bad as they do not give unfair advantages over other players (since they are not used on closed b.net, with some exceptions that I don't know of I guess like mods that only change visual appearance and not gameplay). Hacks, on the other hand, are the "evils" of Diablo 2 as they provide unfair advantages over other players (think of maphack and other bad programs like that).

So, basically, no - a dropmod cannot be used on closed b.net, thus it cannot give players unfair advantages over others.

I have played dropmods before, but only because I have played several mods (all mods I play are on single player) - I don't play dropmods anymore, but they were useful in testing characters (without using an editor). Right now I am playing one of the better mods out there, Median 2008.

On my personal note, anybody that uses hacks (such as maphacks) or bots is a noob among noobs because they cannot either find his way himself or do the work to find items himself. :p

I am a noob among noobs. laugh:

But the noobs without maphacks are pros. Cause they do not need noob Mh to get around.

a drophack is a program that gets opened outside of diablo that makes your character drop all its stuff then leave the game.

I always played legit on Diablo 2 climbed on the MH wagon only when doing teleporting for baal runs and even most of those without MH.

As far as the dropHACK goes yes it was a mod that made you drop ur chars equipped item on the ground.
