ball pythons are awesome. i like flickin the pinkies to stun them but when they get bigger u have to take a butter knife and crack it against the rats head. its awesome. and ball python are the friendliest snakes ive ever seen. i let my friends wrap around my neck and stuff when he was about 3 and a half feet long

Lol! I finished reading the last book. I didn't cry after I finished. I'm feeling very emotional now though. Aw its over...

Nice, I've had my two ball pythons for about 5 years now and they keep somehow escaping, but a mature snake can go for over a year without food as long as they have water. Thats why they are such easy pets Smile

the new snake - SilverTears - 09-02-2007

yeah. today i got worried because it was acting weird and opening its mouth for no reason and not eating. it had a woodchip in its mouth from the bedding stuck in the back of its mouth. we got it out with q tip, it was still a little sour, now its getting some rest Smile

the new snake - Ragnarhox - 09-02-2007

My ball python (Jagernonster) is four feet long; although I'm not sure about his age. When I used to feed him live 'food' I would hold the mouse by the tail and feed him by hand(when friends were around). Can't really do that with the frozen mice though, otherwise he goes for my hand, lol.

I line my cage with newspaper so that never happens.

yeah but news paper looks ugly. if it happens again i will use it. i decided to name it Hades. it looks like a male.

the new snake - Ragnarhox - 09-02-2007

You cannot use regular woodchips for bedding as they can choke on them; especially when feeding. Just buy some bedding from petco/petsmart/where ever. Usually when I feed my snake I put the food on a paper plate/ect to deter him from swallowing any chips.

the new snake - SilverTears - 09-02-2007

the pet store i bought him from uses that bedding on all of their snakes

I say better be safe then sorry. Buy some bedding lol. I don't want a snake to be choked by their own bed. Maybe the store was wrong?

the new snake - SilverTears - 09-02-2007

That is bedding. I bought it in a bag there.

the new snake - jackojake - 09-02-2007
