Suicide - Metalhead Steve - 10-26-2007 Bad Religion Wrote:I heard a word, suicide. So I was listening to this song, and it is something that is never talked about. What do you guys think about it? My view personally is that it is just an easy way out. The family shouldn't have to deal with someone's expenses after they commit suicide. There is no other way. I guess what would be going through someone's mind is that there is no other way out, but they are clearly delusional. If something is troubling someone they should never take this path. Discuss. Suicide - BrioCloud - 10-26-2007 I just finished watching Dr.Phil. I always think about how the other person feels. And there is just some people, who fails too much, feels worthless, and just want it to end. Hopelessness, and unworthiness and a lot of factors, makes a person want to suicide. Suicide - Obfuscate - 10-26-2007 Suicide is a long term answer to a short term problem. If you want to off yourself...go for it. Jump off a bridge, swallow pills, hang yourself, whatever floats your boat. Just get it done and STFU you'll get no sympathy from me. Suicide - itsjustme - 10-26-2007 I tried 'the easy way out' when I was 15, living with yet another strange family. It didn't work, and it didn't work because a part of me didn't want it to work. I've thought about it dozens of times over the years, I think most people do think it, weather they admit that they think of it is another story. I'm really bad when I get drunk and I've had something depressing on my mind. But then I think about the people I would leave behind and I realize I wouldn't accomplish what I set out to prove. Depression can lead to extreme circumstances and I also believe that depression alters your state of mind so that doing something so selfish doesn't register. When life gets so bad for someone, sometimes the only 'out' they see is suicide. Is it right? No. But to the person on the other end...they don't see any other answer but the simplest in front of them. Things happen and sometimes when your depressed, it is an illness, not a shot for people to feel sorry for you, and you commit suicide. Suicide - Metalhead Steve - 10-26-2007 I don't think I can ever empathise with the feeling of actually "wanting" to take one's own life. It makes no sense to me. People just **** each other up. For every suicide there is at least one person at fault and they know it. They likely suffer every day of their lives knowing that they caused it... Suicide - BrioCloud - 10-26-2007 Well on the contrary, such as the person on Dr.Phil I saw today. He was an alcoholic and couldn't support his family. His daughter had to help him all the time like a child, and shes a teenager, he became depressed and felt lonely, went to rehab six times, he couldn't do it. He felt ashamed, and couldn't take it, and wanted to end it all. I don't think it was anybodies fault but his. I think hes having treatment at the Rehab center of Dr.Phil's choice. Suicide - itsjustme - 10-27-2007 Quote:For every suicide there is at least one person at fault and they know it. They likely suffer every day of their lives knowing that they caused it... I would agree with that. Take the person that kazecloud is talking about from the show, if he had committed suicide, his daughter probably would have felt like it was some how, some way, her fault. Even though it wasn't in no shape or form, that thought is still there of 'it could of been' Suicide - Blue - 10-27-2007 People don't realize that they can get the attention they need elsewhere and stay with however they are with and have a bad life. However, theres only one thing that can be done about teenagers who really do have parents that hate them, and thats to call that place that takes kids away from homes that are abusive and such. Suicide - Aemaeth - 10-27-2007 While suicide is the weak way out in most persons eyes, It's a last resort to better the life in others views, My Grandfather ecently was commited and i understand the feelings of Deep rooted depression more than i ever did, It's self worth but at the same time people feel like they drag people down with the life they live. And here I thought, I couldn't resepect you more than I already did. <# Suicide - BrioCloud - 10-27-2007 I must have more compassion towards people than you guys. Suicide - Metalhead Steve - 10-27-2007 I'm with Obs... In my eyes that is the truth. Suicide - Ragnarhox - 10-27-2007 I think that most people who say it is, 'the easy way out' or 'a permanent solution to a short term problem' have not have not felt deep rooted or chronic depression. Although it may seem 'selfish' for someone to take their own life it may be just as selfish for people wanted them to stay when they feel their life it truly horrible(in physical world or in their mind). Or it may just be the actualization that our time in this world may possibly worthless and that death is the only next possible course, no matter how you live your life. Suicide - mindlessSector - 11-02-2007 Some people suffer every day of there life. The one quetion you ask your self over and over is whats the meaning of life if all i do is suffer every day. Thus you find no reason or connection to this world to keep you here so you die. We all have a reason or something that connects us to this world that makes us want to live so we dont commit suicide. really there is no reason to life all we are is a bunch of energy that took form to acknolage its own existance. energy cant be destoryed or created so its an endless process. Suicide - bigdeath - 11-02-2007 I can't stand the folks that talk about it all the time trying to get attention. This guy I work with girlfriend is one of those people. She said she has tried and failed. I told him to tell her that millions of people die everyday without even trying and she couldn't even accomplish that feat intentionally, so is she really trying or just prying for attention? Most people that are really going to commit suicide just do it. They don't go around telling everybody they might do it. I wholeheartedly agree. If you really want to kill yourself it is not hard, the will is not there for her so she really does not desire to die, just the attention. Suicide - Screamthoughts - 11-03-2007 If you really wanted to kill your self it's not that hard, but for those who "TRY" try harder next time! It helps if you read a whole post you know. Not just the part you 'WANT' to read. Suicide - Screamthoughts - 11-03-2007 ^ I wasn't referring to you Heather. |
