World of Warcraft multi-core compatibility explained - Spitfire - 02-08-2008 ![]() According to Drysc, the game is compatible and will take advantage of the the multiple cores by offloading some tasks such as the sound system (assuming you don't have a hardware solution) to the additional processors. While this is good in theory, Drysc mentioned that players shouldn't expect to see an FPS boost. Having the second core processing the sound is still works much much faster than any on-board or add-in sound card, though. Players who want to upgrade their systems might want to go the multi-core route to get a minor boost to the game. That said, if your system is running World of Warcraft just fine, you might want to spend your hard earned case elsewhere. |
