WoW forums: on Cairne realm queue and other issues - Spitfire - 03-12-2008

[Image: WoW-realm-help-list_qjgenth.jpg?392611]It seems that people spend a certain portion of their lives waiting. Whether it's waiting in line by the supermarket counter, or waiting to enter a realm in Blizzard's World of Warcraft, no one really likes the experience. And yet, the latter is precisely what has happened to WoW player Booyah, who rolled his characters to the Cairne realm to play on a less crowded server.

And that's not all. Booyah also has a beef with the WoW Daily Quests. Apparently, spawn campers have been depriving Booyah of the rewards of the Skettis Prisoner quest by using a macro to trigger the quest as soon as the spawning takes place.

Fortunately, Blizzard blue poster Bornakk offered a solution:

In patch 2.4 we will be introducing a lot of new Daily Quests along with increasing the amount you can do (from 10 to 25 in one day) which should help disperse the population doing specific ones. While I won't promise Escape from Skettis will be less competitive, you will have many other options of quests to go do instead.

Also, we are watching Cairne's population, but it's good to see so many people are excited about the new realm.

With a game sporting more than 10 million subscribers, there are only so many realms to go around. Nevertheless, some WoW players give Cairne a month or so before the excitement over the new server wanes and the population dies down. Time will tell as to whether this will hold true, and whether Blizzard will throw another new realm into the mix.
