Combat log issues spotted with World of Warcraft Mac users - Spitfire - 03-15-2008

[Image: wow-image-01.jpg?257994]It seems like the trials and tribulations experienced by Mac users playing Blizzard's World of Warcraft aren't over just yet. The latest bug found was tied to the game's combat log which incorrectly registered the exact timing of events as they were being played out.

WoW forum poster Shamanaut explained the details of the bug as he noticed a delay with the combat log not properly incrementing the seconds when registering an event. He mentioned that there was an eventual delay that occurred after the first couple of milliseconds, with each entry afterwards erroneously reported as the previous one.

Fortunately, Blizzard's resident Mac Technical Support guy Tigerclaw was there when the report was made. He assured Mac users that the issue should be resolved very soon and was quoted having said this:

[...] You should see this fix on PTR before it goes to Live, because (unless there is a major last minute issue) we always have PTR time booked for what we think is the final build. So, we await your feedback once it gets out.

With new builds for the Public Test Realm constantly being rolled out, Mac users should keep an eye out for any updates that may soon resolve this bug. They should also make it a point to give any feedback regarding the recurrence of this issue should it still persist in any later builds of the PTR.
