Game in Progress: TELE-BALL - Nethran - 09-08-2008

Just a platformer with very little relevant story. I was messing with the physics and stuff, because I've never made a platformer before, and I decided to actually make a game.

Here are some screenies!

Old Menu
New Menu:

I did all the art work meself! Whoo! And there's cool techno music, too! I downloaded that from a site, though.. I dunno how to make music... BUT IT'S STILL GONNA BE COOL!

As soon as I finish tiling my first three levels, I'll put up a demo for download! And I'll update and everything.

I'm working on an RPG, too, but I got distracted. :x

Quote:UPDATES:

September 12, 2008

8.01MB Download
Only 2 tracks so far, because I only need 2 so far.
Dark Matter score bonus item included(at least 1 per level so far)
Platform/wall tiles..tiled?
3 rooms
New menu, 50% completed(the "More" button will give more options than to just view the high score)

Not sure how long it'll be. Dunno how to make the file smaller, either... I'd rather not have it over 25MB... But I want to finish it and have it nice. So far I only have 3 of the 5 rooms that will make up the first level, and I'll need at least 3-4 more levels.

if anyone will download it and tell me what they think, I'd appreciate it. Smile Dun worry, no bad things in the file. I don't know how to do that, for one, and I'm also not a jerk like that.

Nice. I'm going to be looking forward to this. What program are you using to made this? Keep up updated =)

Game in Progress: TELE-BALL - Nethran - 09-11-2008

Game Maker. A lot of the scripting is pre-done for you, with variables like gravity, vspeed, hspeed, etc., but I still code the thing together..

I'm updating the menu and some of my ground/wall tiles aren't matching up when I do angled areas, so I'll have to work on that. Once I finish that, though, I can put up an exe for download.. if anyone wants to try it out, maybe look for bugs. I dunno. It's pretty short so far, though.

Nice work.

Game in Progress: TELE-BALL - Frai7ty - 09-14-2008

Damm, I can see people spending hours playing this lol.

Game in Progress: TELE-BALL - Nethran - 09-14-2008

Hmm.. apparently my gameplay is bland. xD Someone told me that, anyway. I realise that it might be; there's nothing particularly exciting about it. Nothing that sets it apart. Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can do to it to make it a more interesting experience?

Game in Progress: TELE-BALL - Frai7ty - 09-14-2008

Ramps perhaps? Or maybe a way to die? Slopes, or slides? Level's that require you to bounce off walls? Unlockable low gravity mode?

Thats a few things I can suggest. I liked the game tho, fun. Can't wait to see the end product.

Nice game, needs more challenge though(losing lives).

Game in Progress: TELE-BALL - Osirus - 09-16-2008

WOW, Pretty awesome! I have been looking for a program like that as well. See if you can implement a charge up feature and put some steep sloops are maybe even area bombs to blow open secret passage ways. It is pretty challenging to make a game so keep at it should turn out nice.
