not sure where to put this..
So i was wondering the magical thought of the halo series coming out for playstation 3. Ofcourse this won't happen Sad But why not?
Is bungie signed to a contract?

halo 3 - Mathalamus - 01-18-2009

PS3 dont have dedicated servers for online gaming

halo 3 - Siris - 01-18-2009

hmm I wonder if there would be mass controversy....

halo 3 - Mathalamus - 01-18-2009

i dont think PS3can handle halo anyways. it has limited multiplayer capability

Math, I usually don't talk down to you, but shut the **** up. Playstation has more online capability than the 360. You'd know that if you payed attention to any of the other threads.

But Halo 3 was a Bungie/Microsoft production, so it's doubtful it will ever see anything but the Xbox or PC.

wouldn't it make sense to do a joint contract with sony, The market is there. Theres an opportunity for both companies to profit. Microsoft gets the bulk of the income, and ps3 will hvae more players.

Thats is crap at its smelliest. The capabilites are just as good if not better. If they weren't as good than there would be no just thing as cross platform games like Call of duty (the newer ones, 4 and 5).

I don't think Microsoft would do it, simply because it would give some people more of a reason to own a PS3 and less of a reason to own a 360. Not a lot of people, but some. They wouldn't want to give Sony any kind of advantage because they like where they're at right now.

First of all, neither does Microsoft or Bungie. Neither have dedicated servers to play these games online. That's why theres bullshit like host.
Second, Microsoft is the only one that can publish a Halo game. You should consider yourself lucky too, because it use to be Bungie games period.

Not only that but Microsoft is probably offering them more money to stay with them and only them so more people buy out Microsoft products instead of Sony that way in the long run Microsoft is actually making more money but Bungie gets a bigger cut on their part. It works for the both of them.

This is what i think though not really whats happening.

Bungie used to design games exclusively for Macs. It wasn't until they showed off the engine for Halo that Microsoft's interest peaked and Microsoft bought Bungie. That's right, it's not a contract or being bribed with money that keeps Bungie with Micrsoft...it's that the big MS owns them.

They split not that long ago.

Heh, was gonna say what Blue said. Bungie has attained it's freedom, though we have yet to see what will come of it, since all they're doing right now is Halo stuff(Halo: ODTS and Halo Wars). I think they were planning a Marathon game?

halo 3 - SpoonMan999 - 01-21-2009

Hadn't heard they split. I'm sure the price for freedom involved some sort of contract.
