So for the last 2 hours I've been trying to solve this on my own, and it just isn't going as planned.
Im trying to use the PlugY mod but its only available for 1.11b.
So I can't seem to run 1.11b.
I currently have 1.12.
I would like to revert to 1.11b and run PlugY.
I would LOVE for someone to do a step by step for me

2. Download game-lod.zip (this includes the 1.09 game.exe)
3. Download the patch you want to downgrade to (LODPatch_111b.exe)
4. Replace the current game.exe with the one from the game-lod.zip archive
5. Install patch 1.11b

if that doesn't work...
make a back up of your save file in your D2 directory
then uninstall D2 from your computer entirely(except the backup save files)
reinstall D2 and LOD
install patch 1.11b (not 1.12)
install Plugy
run D2
(that's how i do it)
its a clean start and it makes sure that it will work, if nothing else works that is

I just had this same problem (although nobody except math helped me lol). Anyways, here's a step by step guide (with pictures!) of how to setup the 1.12a PlugY.
