Staff Changes - Spitfire - 02-15-2009

It has been brought to my attention that the current moderating team needed a shake-up. As a result all admins/mods with ZERO moderating actions since the 1st of January 2009 (In the last 46 days) have been de-modded.

Also gratz to the following:
Ares promoted from Moderator to Super moderator
Pamela reinstated as a Super moderator.

Staff Changes - Mathalamus - 02-15-2009

uh.. now there are no mods with spific sections. like ares

and to be completely honest, you look shorthanded. IMHO

Staff Changes - Fykins - 02-15-2009

Sadly the place has been slowing down for a while now anyway, hopefully Diablo 3 will bring new life to the site.

Staff Changes - Ares - 02-15-2009

Took me like.... 3 tries to fully understand that..

Smile

damn thanks..

Seriously did not expect that.

I don't think it's important to have mods in specific sections. S-mods allow us to monitor and handle all the sections, so we can have a wider reach over keeping the forum in control.

Why the mod team may look smaller, it doesn't really matter if many of those havn't done anything since the beginning of the year. It's essentially the same amount of work put into watching over the site; just more compacted. If we find ourselves unable to handle keeping tabs over the site, I'm sure Spit would be willing to look into getting a couple more hands. Until then, we should be fine.

Staff Changes - The Mob - 02-15-2009

i agree that super mods will have greater efficiency in dealing with the entire site as opposed to a single section.

heck, some sections dont even need a mod

Staff Changes - Siris - 02-15-2009

Well Well Congrats Ares! Oh and lest just hope Pam doesn't get hacked again. =/

Oh! I just say that FrogMan is not admin anymore. Sad

Staff Changes - Aemaeth - 02-15-2009

Hey! i was doing my job, alas, there wasn't much of it to do since we had 32849328490 billion moderators.
I'm not realy happy, seems a bit of a kick in the teeth to get de-modded and then see others modded. There wasn't much modding TO do.

Staff Changes - Mathalamus - 02-15-2009

what? you mean i wasnt stirring up much shit?

Staff Changes - FrogMan - 02-15-2009

I am going to agree with Aemeath here sure I haven't been active enough for a while because of not much to do and in the past I have shakken it up and think did quite a lot here as a Admin so not to even get a PM saying please start doing something more around here or lose your position seems a bit harsh.

Plus having done 100's apon hundreds of sigs for members and keeping the Graphics section alive for long as I could.

Not to say I modded doesn't mean I wasn't looking around and there was no need to read over and over threads that have been open for so long.

And no thanks for a couple thing I did around here well let me say it then thank you very much Spitfire.

Staff Changes - Siris - 02-15-2009

Yeah, I know FrogMan has Helped a lot and so has Aemaeth. I vote for reenstatement. If I have to I'll dig up evidence of their worth... even if it is older than this year.

Staff Changes - Pamela - 02-15-2009

I was a bit surprised at the demotions, and I DO know all Froggy has done around here, especially in Spits absence.

I sent Skye and Jedi a PM asking to be re-modded BECAUSE I was seeing so much going on.

Advertisements in all sections...insults inappropriately outside Steam Room....Spam like no tomorrow.

There was a lot to do ,and I was having to ask others to do it and just hoped someone got on the site.

While I may not agree with how Spit did this with no warning,I also think any questions or grief should be taken to him privately and on an individual level.

Staff Changes - Arc - 02-16-2009

Well grats to those that got promotions, and sorry to those who got demoted that didn't deserve it.

on a side note.. pink?! why pink?? lol

Staff Changes - Fuggle - 02-16-2009

Ummm, I check this site a few times a day these days and I find nothing to mod? I guess if you really wanted me to find shit I could become all hardass and force people to hate me, but I'd rather people enjoy their stay.

Besides you replaced us with more mods? Come on, even you must notice how slow the forums are. It's one offense every few weeks with like 100 people able to fix it.

Wow, you demoted me past immortals/forumelder/veteran to a forum member? Wtf? That's some lame ass shit right there.

Staff Changes - Spitfire - 02-16-2009

Skye here, my computer is being a tool and won't let me get on bzs.

In all respect, it may have been a bit sudden, but Luke carefully scanned through the admin logs and picked out the people that had the most inactivity as moderators. This wasn't just a willy-nilly "lets get rid of him and him and him and him" excercise. There was nothing personal involved. Some of the inactivity was banked up by atleast 4 or 5 months for some of you.

A lot of you have stated that there simply isn't anything to mod anyway. Well, that gives Luke even more reason to cut the numbers a bit. As for Pam's re-modding, she sent me a PM regarding a lot of issues surrounding the site and how a lot of things are being let go here. I know Pam has done a wonderful job in the past, and I personally feel that she will again prove to be a real asset to bzs. Pamela is on bzs frequently, scans this site a lot, and has a secure relationship with a lot of you. She also keeps a level head and can see through arguements to conclude them with reason. Grats to Ares too, you have been one of the most active moderators here. You too, Jedi.

I am very sorry to hear that some people may be leaving, but I think that it's a bit excessive in regards to something as minor as this. Later, perhaps Luke can post the admin logs, and point out just how inactive it has been. If I recall correctly, Luke himself, jedi, ares and myself have been the only members actively moderating for the past few months. There may be others that have done one or two things, and then died for a few months.

Luke's not basing everything on the past, you may have done a lot for the site in the past, Frog, and I know that Luke is forever grateful for all of that. But that isn't the issue at hand. We're talking about moderating here. Moderating only.

I'm not just sticking up for my boyfriend here, I do see a lot of reason and logic in what he has done. I don't agree with how sudden it was, but I guess we all make mistakes.

I'm sorry to hear that a lot of you are angry at the man who has given you a stomping ground here for the past few years. You may not agree with what he has done, but surely you could try and understand?

Staff Changes - Pamela - 02-16-2009

I understand what he did and will not argue the reasoning love.I think the anger is not so much losing the position as much as not being warned it was coming.

Spit is a brilliant man..but his timing just blows at times.*hugs*
I KNOW what Spit does is nothing personal, but just as an associate working for him he should have sent a PM to them,or at least I would have.

Since 6 A.M. my time I think all but Frater and Jedi have been on my MSN . That is when I found out.

Thank you for the promotion and I DID ask for it guys...Mom is ready to go back to work so obey the rules and behave....

Staff Changes - Fuggle - 02-16-2009

Many of us have been talking and we said if you had told us ahead of time you were planning on cutting numbers due to lack of need of so many mods it would have been less offensive to us. But you had to come up and say it was cause we were inactive modding and just demote us without any prior warning? Yeah ****ing right I read the forums every day and if you think I just see stuff and ignore it for some unknown reason rather than fix anything I felt needed to be modded than you should really rethink your master logic.

Excessive? A lot of people felt you are treating us like shit with this, it's not the modship we care about. The first post made us out to be some sort of assholes who refuse to mod and deserve no right to be a part of this website. I know I haven't done shit for modding in the past few months and I've said why. I have no idea what the mods that are staying have been doing besides closing threads I feel have no right in being closed (for example the rickroll thread, as you can see I don't agree with it but it shouldnt be closed imo).

Don't pull the OH YOU CANT BE MAD AT HIM HE MADE THE SITE crap. We don't have to ride his **** cause he made the site, we are grateful for that, but we feel it's not being returned to us. I mod'd for a couple of years and I thought I've been doing a well enough job to at least be given a small thank you for my efforts, be it a PM or even a sentence in the post.

Staff Changes - Arc - 02-16-2009

Im not so much upset about the whole demodding because I know that I haven't been doing much because there wasnt much to do.

What upsets me is that when I was demodded I was set right back to new member, and am still not at what I should be for my post count.

Staff Changes - xDBD - 02-16-2009

this site needs one mod. i go away for a week and come back, only 500 new posts have been made. if one mod can't correct five booboos a week something is wack.

all you panty bunched losers who are mad about losing your mod position, so what? seriously who cares what makes you crabby or how many sojs you have.

Staff Changes - Mathalamus - 02-16-2009

i support the demoting for this reason, it seems redundant to have 900 mods and super mods when there is nothing to do, even i couldn't find energy or time to stir something up.

btw fuggle, skye banned me fron the chatbox with no one telling me until much later. you should be like me, take your demoting like a man and dont complain, if i as banned for this right now id say, meh and spend time doing real stuff.
