What happened to [Mita] bot? - Mythosis - 07-01-2012
From what I gather, a patch came out that made the old D2NT (3.1 I think) detectable, and no one decided to to patch my bot up to date. I went on my old release forum and they are using a bot pack with waaaaaaaaay less tinkered. Anyway, I'm just curious, since I know at one point it was super famous. (google "d2nt mita" and check download counts
)I'm not saying I want to find it anymore. I just want to know why it died out.
Why would I be interested? ...
Let this be a lessen to backup data on a seperate drive. Its been probably 2-3 years since I stopped working on my old bot. A hard-drive crash wiped out my 6 months of work that was due to release literally then next day. I had written well over 10,000 lines of coding, doubling the pack size, completely rewrote the "run script" process for bosses to include just about everything, do it smartly or hardforce the order, and made everywhere in the game (except for Uber zones) completely able to travel to by saying go to [area]. It supported rushing abilities, traveling took the quickest path possible (based on tele-vs-walk, FCR, waypoints) and some areas no longer needed tele-only. You could litterally go from lvl 1 to 99 without having to gain a lvl manually, ever. Although you still had to manually switch difficulties and suit up. I've only just got back into diablo like, yesterday. Then I read like its a "new" feature that a bot has essences added into already. Seriously? Wtf happened?

don't know if you can still find it or not and not sure if it was ever patch up to the new D2NT 3.1 and NTBot 4.2 bot and then patched for D2 1.13d and I am not sure what was the last ver it was at or at now

Pretty certain it was D2NT 3.1, NTBot 4.2, and at least patch 1.13c, but I think was also up to 1.13d. I know I personally only hosted the download at one site. They took it down eventually, but all my old posts they deleted rather than archive. So I can't even read if its simply due to dummies not getting support for by bot. Looking around the net, I can only seem to find it on bittorrent sites now, which is bumming me out. If the bot still works, I'd rather use it then start all over and re-do a year's worth of modding.
*2010* was my join date here, which was probably a few months before I went MIA. Anything new since then to make those bots out-of-date?
edit*ok, so it looks like I never updated to 1.13d and that is the problem. I have to look into it to make sure, but it looks like I could replace most of the files with my old mod's. I might just start it over though. Idk yet.
