Bnet's IP Bans. - Einhander89 - 07-15-2004

I got my frist big IP ban today i think so atleast and i was wandering how you can change your ip i have read about calling your isp or turning off your modem for a hour but.
I have cable and its from charter. i am in a lil town and they have such a big internet set up in this town, the people useing internet dosnt even use half of there resources. So i was wandering what I/we can do to change our ip adress.
Thans alot . i am hoping for a link to a website that talks more about this in detail but what ever you find will be usefull.
Also if u get a temp ip ban that dosnt mean that your going to get your account banned right , its just standered procedure for making games to fast.

thats what i thought.
but does any one know about the changing of ip adress ?

I googled it but all that showed up was shitty programs you have to pay that changes your IP for internet Explore and to turn of your modem.

well if u have dial up it changes the ip every time u log on because it finds the fastest server thats wht i did when bnet banded me from starcraft

But cable has static ip addresses usually. I think you have to use winipcfg in the command prompt to release your ip and leave your modem off for 8 hours or so and then you will get given a new ip.

dynamic ip is best Tongue

Bnet's IP Bans. - Shanon - 07-16-2004

Yeah but it's up to your ip whether you have a dynamic ip or not. Dynamic ips are really only good for avoiding bans like this anyway.

So blizzard can ban your IP number. I have DSL, and I was just wondering, you know, just in case my mh screws me over, how to change my IP number. Is it almost the same as dial-up, or is it like cable modem? I'm not really an expert, so if this is a stupid question, please cut me some slack.

Bnet's IP Bans. - Einhander89 - 07-17-2004

you wont get a ip ban for mh just a account / cd key ban im pretty shure this is correct , right?

Bnet's IP Bans. - ken2520 - 07-17-2004

no clue but ive heard that they only ban ur account for a certian of time for mh but i donno if that s true... caz mh is such a small hack that some blizz ppl mite even b using lol Big Grin so i dont think they will screw ur whole account over for ever..

Bnet's IP Bans. - liQuid_sNake - 07-17-2004

man blizz are juss some money hungry people they ban ur cd key so you will go buy another game for the cd-key

Bnet's IP Bans. - Shanon - 07-17-2004

Nah I think they want to stop people hacking and duping, but I thought that they would of realised by now that banning keys is not working because there are heaps that work floating around.

Maphack is a thirdparty program, and Bnet does not endorse the use, and also forbids it, to be used in gameplay. Therefore they will ban any account found using maphack. Ive lost 3 accounts in 1 day in 1.09 using maphack.

Bnet's IP Bans. - Gonff - 07-18-2004

Getting ip banned is nothing. It usually means a temporary ban. Any anyway, it's easily changed in RegEdit. Aparty form that, I forgot how.

Bnet's IP Bans. - Shanon - 07-18-2004

I just got a ban an hour ago and i'm still banned. I heard that it will last 48 hours max. How do you change it in the registry so I am unbanned?

Whatd you find?

Bnet's IP Bans. - Shanon - 07-19-2004

I tried to get on bnet today 24 hours after my ban and it wouldn't work still. I decided it could be c3po so I turned it off and then I could get onto battle.net. I then decided to try getting on with c3po and my other key, but that did not work. Now I can't even get on at all so maybe they are giving people temp bans for using c3po.

Bnet's IP Bans. - Silverarrow24 - 07-19-2004

What does it mean to get your CD key banned? Is that the number/letter thing you have to put in when you first install the game? How do you change that, or whats the deal with using a new CD key?

Bnet's IP Bans. - laMe - 07-20-2004

could you post a link to show how to change your IP plz
