Ok a couple things i suggest Hero editor Aka zonfire. It is very easy to use. Also you can only use the characters on open battle net or single player not closed battle not.

yeh with what kemwing said, u'd only be able to get them onto open b.net, not closed b.net because on closed b.net all of ur chars are saved on servers, while in open b.net your characters are saved right in your save folder in your D2 directory. if it is open b.net, just make sure u have the chars in ur save folder in that d2 directory, and u should be able to play them.
