Things here are dying out...

If you added more games, it wouldn't exactly be "D2Sector" anymore, and of course you can ask questions, but everybody is always wanting to get rich quick. Most of all, the bots. Perhaps to get rid of the idiotic questions about bots and hacks, you guys could put up instructions and sticky them, so instead of people constantly posting questions that have been numerously answered, they can check the post with instructions in it. You could also enforce rules more heavily, I'm not talking about like banning 1 time offenders or something like that, there are alot of people who constantly spam, and nothing is done to them, you could get stricter on the rules. You could always announce a temp moderator while Cheshire is gone. Not somebody that has just joined or whatever, somebody the moderators or Spitfire think is able to do the job while Cheshire is on leave. I suppose you could have more relating to graphics. Also, to reply to a post before this, moderators don't have to make a graphics tournament, members can do that to. Be it for fun, or for a prize, (points, items). You could always have like a downloads section on the forum instead of the home page, may make it easier for people who immediatly go to forums to look for the downloads instead of checking the home page.
I believe the moderators are doing a great job, but everythings not up to them. The members can make things fun to. You could hold contests or compete for items, there are quite a bit of things we can do, but not just moderators, members themselves need to help to if they want this site to live and keep on going, we don't want to end up like WcSector, dead and scrapped do we? I thought the FTA's were a great idea (Free Trade Agreements)
but people just kept asking for items other than donating. You could always revive that, and only let members of this forum with a certain number of posts get into that, I saw alot of new members go straight for that area and try to get free items. Could always update the main page to, with the character guides and things of that nature.

that d2sector clan thingy isnt too bad of an idea. i never was one to play closed much but if it works out, i'll join yalls. just as soon as i fix the old computer. the new one wont even play d2 so i've been stuck with the older one (its on its 14th birthday lol).

all i need to know about the clan thing is some bot shit and i'll help out with donating items. other than that, i do things the hard way.

Ladder won't be reset for a while.

Like I said, I think it'd be smarter to organize now and just play out what's left of the current season.

That way everybody's more familiar with each other etc. and we know who all is participating by the time it's reset, making it a lot easier. (Organized games.. runs/rushes/etc.)

I think silver would be a good mod because hes always online and helping people. The whole tourny thing never works out. I tried to start a tourney once but no1 replied... Ive made the d2s unofficial clan channel before but only 3 people used b4 it died. Ive tried to make a clan once but it never worked.. oh well we can always try.

Things happen, not everyone wants to be in a clan, and not everyone is on the same server. One I get my D2 Classic CD's back I will start playing again, until then I will be haunting you all. I agree, we need more active mods. About the clan channel, not everbody wants to sit in a channel, I don't ever remember there being one. This isn't a starcraft site, a graphics site, or a warcraft site. It should stay diablo. There once was a warcraft site, nothing ever happened with it and it died. There is already a starcraftsector, *not an affiliate of this site*. Anybody who went to a Diablo site to find out information about warcraft or a different game is a complete fool.

it is a good idea to start the clan now and play to know the ppl and get rid of ppl that come in and waste time asking for items ect.(besides the next season wont start for a while), and i do think it is a good idea to add another game like WC or starcraft because lots of ppl get bored with diablo but love this site and dont really want to talk about diablo much any more (like me)....take notice that this is only my 2 cents and what i say can be ignored.....keep me posted on how the clan thing is going and if we add a new game because i will help out on the info about games i am good with that stuff .

Like Muderman said, we need more mods to mod certain sections while the super mods oversee their actions. An active admin would be nice, maybe we need a second one?

If things really are dying out, and there's less activity etc.. doesn't that imply there should be less mods?

I don't frequent every forum, read every thread, or examine every post right now.. but overall I haven't seen an excess of problems and the few I've came across were dealt with promptly. (shrugs)

I think the Clan idea could be cool if it is done right. I’ve got a couple of suggestions that might help. I think we should have some more mods. Maybe not new supermods necessarily, but like a mod just for a section. Like have a Mod just for the trading section, or the small talk section. Or even give like 2 – 3 sections per mod. That way it would ease up the work on all the supermods. Something like that would probably keep things running smoother in my opinion. Also like some of the stupid threads, instead of just closing them, delete them or move the to the repository would keep the clutter down. Also I we have like a mod for just membership, like clearing out old and not active members or something like that.




I also agree with Murder that having a more active admin would help also, no offense Spit. So maybe have another admin would help to.




There are a lot of the same questions asked about bots and such because ppl are too lazy to look. We have tons of people join, post 1 question about how they can’t figure out something and then leave. Could we have someone write a FAQ for the most used programs (c3po, d2jsp, etc..)? Like how Heaven’s Guard did a FAQ for the forums. I also think that putting it on the main page or like on top of the forums with the rules. Or even putting it next to the download or the program so that way we don’t have the repetitiveness in the hacks and dupes section. Someplace where people don’t have to look to hard to find it.




I think that these things well help keep the site running smoothly and hopefully keep members around and attract new people to join and stay active. I think the members thing is our other problem. We have a lot of members but most of them are not active, post a couple of times and leave. A site is only as good as its members make it. So really its come down to everyone helping change this place into someplace worth staying. Having members host graphics competitions, tourney and such. Maybe if we could have these things put on the main page saying “there is a Useast Ladder tourney on January 3rd, 2005 at such and such time” Like fuggle said he couldn’t get interest I think it might be because people don’t see things. Also if it where on the main page, when people come for downloads it might encourage them to check things out more.




I think that maybe we should encourage people to get people to join. Maybe have some sort of reward for bringing in new members and then additional reward if they get like x number of posts. I know we’d have to have a mod to check ips and such so that way people don’t just make 2 accounts.




So basically in a nut shell, more mods, another admin, and just the members stepping up and being active. I hope some of these suggestions help. Peace.

there is like 6 mods i don't think the activity died down much its just alot of ppl who don't read rules and same old stuff getting asked over and over i think more mods and maybe more forums stuff and more games if u could find any more arcade games

Not sure if this is all ready in place or not either, but another idea could be an IRC server/channel. ;x I'd use it, at least.

I like the referral idea. Guides could be done too, but there's all ready a few up and people continue to ask about them..

There are other possibilities too. Arcade games have been mentioned.. well I know one site that hosted a game of Blacknova (not sure if anybody else knows what it is or not. ;\ I can probably dig up a link or two and explain if Im the only one though) for a while in order to attract a few people and bring back interest in others.

I've just recently been coming to this site to check on D2JSP and other bots as well as some of the guides you have, but I've been playing D2 for almost 3 years and I would love to start an east ladder clan if anyone else is up for it. As for FAQ's etc. go, I'll be putting up a master D2JSP FAQ within the next few days. How to install, problems, patches, etc. so keep an eye open, if anyone is interested in starting an east ladder clan, im up for it. My account is *xzekt on east. I also think we should have a clan account in which the leader collects items whether it be sets, etc. that are MF'ed and helps clan members out by giving them items if needed, whereas clan members can also donate. The forum members could donate as well, and then have their name be put into a draw to win an item, say like an occy one week or something, iunno, just some ideas, lemme know what u think.
