Help w/ my smiter

I'm wearing fort, gaze, up'd gores, u'd ber'd hoz, dungos, rfrost, soj, grief zerk 186/37%, and dracs. My problem is that when i take off grief and fort the dmg only goes down 3 points. My smiter currently only does 1.6k, so I don't know why my dmg won't add.

there is an article about grief causing the character screen to "lie" meaning your dmg is still being added using fort+Grief but it just doesnt show.

I'm pretty sure Fortitude doesn't add to your smite damage.

Someone else in a dueling game was saying he did 3k and he was wearing coh, grief pb, shako, maras, and the rest pretty much the same after that. And also, if not fort, what armor should I wear? I know coh is a possiblilty
