Any form of bumping realy, I've had more than one thread that went without anyone replying too.
Usally people don't post in your threads becouse they are not interested, or are oblivius to the topic. Here I've got a better idea, if your thread under 20 views, and no one has replied yet, you can bump it.
bumping threads make them look crapy and spamed up if any bumpen it should be 1 time in your thread after 5-6 hours maybe
i think you should only be able to bump once and you cant bump if
1) someone else has already posted in the thread
2) more than 25 ppl have viewed the thread
3) the thread was posted 4 days earlier
these rules are simple and logical.
I think Tahu's idea is good............
If 20 people saw it but 0 people posted in.....you bump............
Tahu said it perfectly, but I'm thinking of limiting the bumping to the trade forum only, and you only get to do it twice. Not decided yet, I'll think it over and get back to you guys after I speak with the rest of the staff.
i still liked d2trading.org's view on bumps, bumping is really only useful in the threads like trading or guides, other than that its useless
I'm down with bumping. Don't know why everyone else isn't. I just enforce the rules.
ya i think know bumping is kinda retarded...though it kinda screws with the point system, i think the no bumping was why points actually became worth something way back when
My general opinion about bumping is that you should only bump if you have some new critical information to add to the post.
Then again this forum is rather active so your post can easily be lost and unnoticed in cases where there are only a certain group of people who potentially could give an answer to the problem.
In these special cases I don't think bumping after some hours is a solution it most likely would make the same people that already read the topic but couldn't help read it again. So perhaps best is to give it some more time (at least 24 hours), the people who can answer might be in different time zones or they may just check the forums every other day or something.
Also the topic subject is important, If your topic describes the problem the chance of a person who has the answer to notice the topic increases. This is something that's good to consider before bumping. This also makes it easier for other people with the same problem find this topic when using search feature.
Well like I said that just my opinion
can someone explain the bump system to me? what it is, warning points attained? etc.
bumping means when you ask something and nobody answers, you just post an other post on it ( makes you doubleposting ) and it refreshs the thread.........
People can see it and answer that way............
That's what we call BUMPING......... :)
oh shit, people should only be able to do that once a day. i answer to anything that says last post: today, yesterday, or 2 days ago.Originally Posted by Hurly91
I say once a day, depending on the logicalness of the topic. some things there is no reason to bump.
Ok, bumping can be done twice per thread. The first bump MUST be 24 or more hours after the last post. Second bump must be done 24 or more hours after the first bump. This is allowed in the Trading Forum ONLY, NO EXCEPTIONS. Anyone that does not follow these simple guidelines may receive a double-post warning, and the thread may be deleted.
i think thats a good decision because the trading forums really arent all that active here, so you dont need to bump that much. Where as at d2trading.org, they are RIDICULOUSLY active so u can do bumps every 3 hours. It really depends on how active the forums trades are.
I love how Cheshire always comes to a conclusion that is perfectly logical.
Guy must be some kind of genius.
or just have no life? maybe both? jk chesh, plz dont ban/warn me. i do think that some of the d2 game threads should be able to bump tho.
