Diablo 3 in the works?

simple math is all that is needed to know that D3 will never come.

4.5 million+ people play WoW. that's a damn lot.

assuming every person on WoW pays $50 a month for the game.
that's $6.75 MILLION every month. take away about 1 million for the people who don't pay monthly is still about 5.75 MILLION. plus server costs. which i assume don't eat too much of the profit. i think a cool $5 MILLION is easy enough to say.

plus $50 for the actual game. times 4.5 million. we'll assume they make $10 profit every game sold. that = 45 million. i don't know how game sales work. but i assume aside from production cost about $3 per disc (yeah right it's much less than that.) & companies (walmart, EB, gamestop, ect.) buying at a surplus rate. $10 profit is probably too little, it's actually alot higher.

think that platinum & geatest hits go to home consoles at $20 each. they're still making profits from this or they wouldn't do it. PC games, don't ussually go down in price unless they're doing really really reallly bad.

anyways. blizz is making a hypothectical total of about $5 MILLION per month + estimating around 40 MILLION. and that's cutting them alot of slack. give or take about 1 million.

the verdict = we're still getting screwed on game prices. (DUH) star craft ghost was probably made for fun. not for profits for the most part. star craft ghost was in the making for about 5 years... before WoW even came out. blizz won't even need to make games after WoW. they'll only do them for fun. there's probably tons of holes in my math. i don't care. it all amounts to the same thing. they're getting richer off of monthly fee's than they would ever get selling games.

diablo 3 won't come unless they want to do it for fun. diablo is still on the hardcore fan's PC. they will expect a free online service. we'll only get it, if they want to throw us a bone or start charging a fee.

sad but true. money is really the root of all evil. look at EA. blizz probably have more money than them now. the future is bleek for us.

good luck to everyone out there who still think that most video game companies make games for fun... how many mega mans were there? street fighter? castlevania? blah blah ect. it's a different world than it was when diablo 2 first came out. and we the consumers are proper F**ked.

you can rest now. blizz has lots of money. D3 won't come out. and they'll continue to be good game developers who just take old formulas and make them good. you can tell they do play games. but they are also a huge corp now. let's watch the evil unfold.

Sooner or later d3 will come out. and even if it was p2p, i wouldn't care. i would just quit WoW, seeing how i just play that when i get bored. I stuck to d2 for 5 years. I stuck to wow for 5 months.. I don't think i would mind paying for d3.

Diablo Three will probably never come out and if it did it would be pay to play. Why? Well it would take World of Warcraft's buisness out if Diablo three was not pay to play and Diablo was almost the same as World of Warcraft everyone would just play Diablo three.

If it ever comes out, as SCG have been worked on in about 5 years....we can expect d3 to come out 5+ years after SCG have been released, by that time WoW will be a old game, and peaple will at that time be looking for somthing new. Then, and only then, when blizzard stop making profit on WoW's montly payment as they got used to at that time, they will take the tumb out of the *** and make D3, with pay to play, to start erning money again. THey will never make a game in the same gender as WoW as long as it goes so good as it does.

I think D3 will come, but not so soon i guess, WoW works so great that they prolly will make the game better til' the game is boring, then maybe D3 will come, just as a new fresh blizzard game.

No, I dont think d3 is comming out soon. Why would they? Think of it like this, they make a monthly profit from world of warcraft. they make a yearly profit from d2. So why they make a d3 then theywill most likely charge you a monthly fee. if they charge a monthly fee im most likely not going to get it unless it is the most godly thing ever.

for wow plyrs p2p is a rip off ,since p2p games are the most expensive games out there having a unlimited about price increase
