Subject: Question about the recent bannings and what is considered a hack

    To whom it may concern:

I have heard about the recent bannings and have heard that people have been
banned for the use of a map hack program. As you (Blizzard Entertainment)
are undoubtedly aware, there is a program called D2Loader which allows a
person to load multiple instances of Diablo 2, as long as said person has an
extra set of CD keys. This program is NOT a map hack, and does not give any
type of advantage whatsoever to the person using it, and does not modify the
Diablo 2 memory space. I am definitely interested in using this program, in
order to make transferring items between my characters much easier.

Does the new anti-detection system (nicknamed Warden from what I've heard)
look for this? Am I allowed to load two versions of Diablo 2 at once? I am
the proud legal owner of two copies of the game, and I do not believe that
loading my two copies at the same time violates the EULA. Am I correct in
assuming this? I am simply asking because I do not want to have my
    characters and/or CDKeys banned from Battle.net . If I
cannot load two copies this way, please let me know how I can, because the
game simply says "Only one copy of Diablo 2 may run at a time" when I try.
It would be very helpful if I could load both of my accounts at the same
    time! =)

    I await your reply.

    Greetings,

As far as I know any third party program which interacts with the game in some way may end up causing the account to be banned and the Cd key to be temporarily restricted. There are many users who simply use the d2loader to play without purchasing the game.

So there you have it, while D2Loader might not get you banned NOW, it definitely MIGHT get you banend in the future. I will continue using it however, because while they have banned all hacks that have come out within 48 hrs, they have not banned me for using D2Loader since I started using it the day it came out. I take this as a sign that they do not consider D2Loader a bannaable hack, and I hope they don't change their mind anytime soon.....
well **** 99.9% of diablo II people dont care about single player. why would you... you can hack the game so easily. even going legit is pretty lame...
and you would need a cd-key generator to get some crap cd-key to get the game going without the battle.net servers.. which isnt really hard to find thanks to so many websites like google roflmfao..

so hell... blizzard needs to make there own d2loader for the public lol.
xfering for ourselves is VERY important! ><"

why depend on others most of the damn time..

which is why there are clans...

**** i hate saying this over and over..

d2loader *is* a third party program. But it's really harmless if the player uses it mainly for playing without cd or running two windows. bnet would have made a big mistake by banning ppl using d2loader just for those purposes.
    1. there may be heat problems caused by a fast Cd-rom drive after playing for >2hrs. so its better to use a nocd.
    2. some players have scratched their cds so they cant run it.
    3. running 2 copys of diablo is just the same as playing on multiple computers, we still have to buy the game to play online.
    4. many players who've bought the game use the loader but they are not using hacks and plugins.
imho, d2loader is for the players convenience so there's no point in banning d2loader when they can ban hack using users.

    unless its already stated..

the only use they are even ganna bother sticking with what they do now..
is if even if you are banned from d2loader. blizzard being the greedy bastards they are. will have you wanting to buy the game again just so you can play online..

hell like i said. blizzard should make there own fricken d2loader and make d2 alot better instead of trusting other people with your priceless items...

There is a Clause in the EULA that you are not to have mutiple connections to battle.net from one Computer. Most of my friends have been banned from the usage of D2Loader.

And yes i realize this is a response to a very old thread, but some dont seem to get why it is wrong when they do mention it in the EULA

Well if ppl use d2loader for playing without cd, then they should use blizzards own nocd way then

In 1.12 blizzard made it possible playing diablo w/o cd's. And its legal cuz there is NO thrid party programs used.

And blizzard wil NEVER make their own third party programs, for that simple reason that all other third party programs will be legalised then.

D2loader is a third party program and therefore not at legal program, however blizzard may be able to ''allow'' this program aslong none of the plugins is used.

Just for everyone's information. I have lost one of my accounts because of d2loader. When I wrote blizz they specifically names the program in the e-mail.. so YES D2Loader CAN get you BANNED!
