Finding Runes

Does the Countess (Act 1, Quest 4) drop good runes? Seems to always drop lower ones. Is there anyone else that drops runes more regularly? I always do the forge, but that is rather limited as its only once per difficulity and I'm not really wanting to rush for forge.

I've gotten runes like Ist and Fal from Countess, but it takes a lot of runs/luck

yeah ive gotten ist off countess and gul off my hell forge, Hell cows, i seem to get HR like ist 10 runs or so. Lots mediums like mal and lem kos show up too

i heard that you find a lot of high runes in hell arcane sanct...havent found this to be true personally thou

hell council in trav/durance lvl 3 have the best chance to drop hi's like ist and up. i've found ist from countess and another from hellforge. council has a better chance to drop a hi than countess except countess drops a rune almost everytime whether its good or bad so u can get some ok ones from her while ur waitin for a hi

I usually find good stuff killing trav council on hell too.. I'll have to do some more and see if I get any runes. I may have before but never gave it a thought.

trav seems like a logical choice i guess...i'll try it if i ever get a char high enough...also can anyone test out that arcane theory that i heard? i would except i keep dying on hcl

My hammerdin does very well there, but I only have like 200 mf.

I think that to find runes you should keep your mf as low as possible, since runes en charms dont count as magic items...i'm not 100% sure on this though

Yes i think that lesse mf u have better chance of rune drop u have. Because when u have high mf the chance to drop elite item is more and it drops them not the runes. Also the countess is verry good for runes the perfect is to have trap assasin and go cows.

i think hell trav is the best but countess is easier if you get mh wen it comes out ^^ ....arcane sanctuary isnt bad either can get keys and runes at same time

ive also gotten war travs and maras from summoner =P

U guys r correct to a point:countess drops alot runes but few are HR and council drop HR few but can drop good high items but havin high mf dont hav nothing 2 do about dropin less/or lower runes!
Mf works like this:
-When u kill a monster the game chooses a item 2 drop like a ring amu sword shield etc but mf dont hav influenc of what kind of item , meaning that if u hav 0%mf and a broad sword dropped u would get a broad sword and not an exceptional or elite version of it even if u had 999999999%mf but with mf on u get a better chance that the broad sword wont be normal(without stats,clean) , so if the game decides to drop a rune or a charm it will drop anyway even if the same monster drops harlequin+GF+Doom+Tyraels u will still get ur BER rune

He is 100% correct, mf in no way affects rune drops. And don't get too anxious about high runes dropping. They drop few and far between. Most people with many high runes either traded for them, got them from botting, or bought them from ebay/spam sites. If high runes dropped all the time, they would have no value.

false, when I MF with my sorc, she has 880 MF i get a lem Rune and up every 5 runs from meph and trav.

the countess is very good for dropping runes..the info says she drops up to Lo(#28) but i have found a Sur(#29) off her so i assume that Sur is the highest rune she can drop. i heard a while ago that the ghosts in hell arcane sanctuary have the best chance of dropping ist...

travincal has some very high lvl council members and its very easy to reach so thats a nice place...

cows can drop high runes too and there is a lot of them.

Hephisto can drop up to zod i think, but best i've got off him is Lo

I found ohm from some monster ( urdar i think ) in act 4. And countess can drop ists and puls.

Hi all

I have had Lo off HF along with Gul and the usual number of Um, Pul and lower, but not seen much from the countess! Travi seems like a good choice with so many bosses in a small area and all easy to get too.

I have had some reasonable drops in the pits as well, but i don't think there is much in it with other areas.

MF has nothing to do with rune dropping.

I would like to know the effect of having more than 1 player completing HF, or having several chars in the same game when HF is completed. I know that more Pgems, flawless and skulls drop but is there an effect on rune drop?? Perhaps someone knows, or can test it?
