The civilized way would be to put everyone through the same educational system, providing fair competition, and then choosing upon their achievements.

How would You feel if instead of finishing exams at school You get somebody holding Your future in their hands? What would the point of all that school be then? Would that be fair? I think that Your definition of civilization needs some revision.

people think they have it so bad here in america. i wish they would have watched the cnn special a few nights ago about north korea. they have people that just die of starvation in the streets and people walk by them without a second thought. that nation is so ****ed up because of kim jong ill and he'll deny it until every one of his people are dead in the streets and then he'd just run away.

they also hold public executions by firing squad for people who commit treason. treason being defined as anything against kim's way of doing things. they can't even speak ill of him or its considered treason. what a sad way to live your life. in fear of your own government. the people who are supposed to protect and provide for you.

After reading this entire thread, and some interesting statements that some of you made at this subject, I decided to contribute my humble opinion.

About myself...I am a 20 year old psychology student from the Netherlands. I have a white mother, and a black father. I have been raised by my mother only, since my parents got divorced when I was still a child. Yes, my skin is tanned due to a mixture of their DNA. According to the stereotype racist, that would automatically 'classify' me as a "black man". I am very well educated in ICT and audio production, and have yet to become the victim of racism. Maybe it's because of the fact that I'm quite alternative when it comes to my personal interests compared to the stereotypical "black man" (ie: listening to techno and punkrock instead of rap, hip-hop, RnB, or whatever that 'shit' is called, wearing casual clothes, and having more "white" than "black" friends. Not because I prefer white people over black people, because there are not many "black men" that share the same interests as me. Maybe it's because most of them don't want to be rebellious to what the average "black man" does, monkey see monkey do ((no offense)).

Enough about me, let's hit the topic.

We are ALL homosapiens. Human beings, of flesh and blood. One does not get born a racist, one becomes a racist. How? Be it pre-judgements, being raised by racists as parents, or maybe even something bad that you, or someone that you feel connected with experienced, caused by a person with a different skin color. There are alot of factors that can form, or change these racial feelings on how one views other individuals of a different race.

But does it make sense? For example: Let's say you that you're a white male, and one day, a black man rapes your wife, or robs you. Would it flip the "I-now-hate-the-black-race" switch inside your head? If yes, what if it was a white man? Would you discriminate your own 'race'? Here's my point, there is only one race, the human race. One should judge a single individual on his or her behaviour, instead of skin color. I have a girlfriend, (she is white, for what it matters) and if a black man would rape my girl, I would probably go nuts and kill him. If a white man would rape my girl, he'd get exactly the same treatment. If someone would succeed in robbing me, I would 'hate' that specific person, not his family, or people that wear the same skin color of the person in question.

It is complete bullshit to judge someone by the way he or she looks. You cannot say "I hate ALL blacks, or I hate ALL whites, because...". That is inhuman. Research shows that the main reason why some people join cults such as the KKK circus, cause of having one or multiple bad experiences with 'n!ggers'. So "Boooohoooo, a n!gger beat up my child at school. THEREFORE I HATE N!GGERS!!!!11", or something similar. Think about it, does that make sense? That's right, what these people lack, ladies and gentlemen, IS common sense. Racism will unfortunatly never completely disappear in our society, probably slightly reduced due to the world becomming more and more "multicultural" every day. But people like us, that have to form the future of our countries, should know better than to judge people just by the color of their skin. That is basically the same as hating someone for being human.

Once in while, whenever someone states a distinction between white and black people, certain people leave themself the privilege to name them racists. In my opinion, such people are no different to "real" rascists. It's just the way that Your (American) society seems to have developed, that "rascist" is a taboo, something to which noone can retaliate.
