Hero Editor Problem

I just downloaded the v.80 hero editor. I followed the installation directions, and all it does is copies 7 files and asks me if I want to update a few system files. Then it wants to restart my computer. It restarts and nothing seems to be done. I'll try to start the hero editor and it says Class Not Registered...Can Someone Help?

Hm.. I have never heard of that problem. Are you using Win XP, 2000, or NT? If so, do you have administrator rights when you install Hero Editor? Did you unzip the Hero Editor download into a new (empty directory), then run the setup.exe file?

I am running Win2k. I did exactly as the directions said. Looks Im S.O.L. =P
Im goanna toy with it a bit more... if this editor is as good as they say, then it will be damn worth fighting my system for. =)

If you get any messages (about version conflicts) that pop up during the installation, usually it is best to answer yes. However, if that doesn't work, then repeat the installation and answer no. If it gives you an error message when doing it this way, then you may need to find the file that is giving you an error, make it NOT read-only, and rename it to something else (e.g. add some extra letters to the name). Then try one last time.

Will upgrading to the latest service pack fix the problem? I can't find the files that the hero editor is trying to replace . What should I do Zon? Thanks - Phaos :

Zon, I downloaded and installed win2k sp4. I ran your installer and it worked perfectly! Sorry for taking up your time...thanks for responding! - Phaos :: cool ::
