The Invisible Killer

Dihydrogen Monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there.Prolonged exposure to it's solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweaing and urination, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawl means certain death.

Dihydrogen Monoxide:

Is also known as hydroxl acid, and is the major component of acid rain
contributes to the greenhouse effect
May cause severe burns
Contributes to erosion of our natural landscape
accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals
may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes
Has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients

Contamination is reaching epidemic proportions!

Traces of DHMO have been found in almost every lake, stream, and resevoir in America today.DHMO pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars in damage to the midwest, and recently California.

Despite The danger, Dihydrogen Monoxide is often used:

As an industrial solvent and coolant
in nuclear power plants
in the production of styrofoam
as a fire retardent
in many forms of cruel animal research
In the distrobution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
as an additive in "junk-foods" and other food products

Companies dump DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer.

The horror must be stopped!

The American government has refused to ban the distribution, production or use of this damaging chemical due to the "importance of economic health of this nation." In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military reseach facilities recieve tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.

I don't entirely see what you put it in jokes and pokes cuzz the first 95% of it is a real issue in todays world.
But why is your teacher pushing this on you, sure its bad but its 1 of the millions of problems this world has.

As for the joke, Carlos Mencia has been my hero ever since his show came out.

My teacher didn't push it on me, I found it funny. because it is needed and some retard even set up and email to try to ban it.

Hmmm dihydrogen monoxide. My roomates abused that stuff and spilled it all over our floors ruining them all!!! BAN IT I say!!

my last year chem teacher had it on his door..... i think its stupid, i get the joke but its just a waste of time and money.......plus we need it to live, if it end up getting banned were all going to die from stupidity before dehydration

it's just a joke. a parody of all the environmental campaigns we see today
it's not like someone will actually go as far as actually starting a protest against dhmo, especially not the people who dont get the joke

still confused by your post. you seem to get that dhmo is h2o but it seems to me that you thought the article was serious

Beholder, how does it waste money? I don't see any money being spent. It's meant to be a joke, as DCM said. We need something like this for most activism campeigns (ie feminism and anti-racism)
