Honestly, I don't like most of what either produces. But every now and then these genres have their moments.

Metal generally has more thought put behind it. More variation. There's really nothing changing in a rap song whereas in metal you have different verses, guitar riffs, solos. A rap song is generally the same generic drum beat with 2 verses that are the same and 2 choruses that are the same.

tool not to mention every rap song that comes out now has the same theme. "smokin a blunt, drinkin a 40, and ******ES fo shizzle"

hell i could be a rapper, they'll call me notorious W.H.I.T.E

whereas today's metal (when you can understand what they're saying ) all have at least a different meaning to each song while still maintaining that "Metal" sound. but i think all in all the most creative group in a while is sublime. i mean these guys literally sat around the house and came up with shit all day long off their heads and if they had put everything they came up with on record they'd have more cd's than anyone. and they didnt' really follow a certain "sound" really they just did what sounded good in their ears.

Ministry, Oomph, Portian control, wumpscut and Einsurezende to name a few. There are others, but these are the ones off the top of my head. Also, I do feel that the first 2 NIN albums did have a very industrial feel to them. Not the new stuff though.

Old School Metal! Megadeth, Pantera, Metallica (before the black album), GNR, Ozzy, Iron Maiden..etc...

Also liked some of the grunge, Soundgarden expecially. Too bad it died out

Although I don't like most of today's metal (Disturbed, Trapt, gay shit like that) I have to agree about the whole Sublime thing. I don't even like Sublime all that much but I still agree with everyone for the most part that you just said.

u cant compare rap to it that way rap isnt meant to use instruments like rock does rap is like poetry its all about the lyrics, which is not easy as it looks to think up espcially the freestyle getting stuff to rhyme and make sense at same time in matter of minutes or seconds.

Perhaps that's the problem. Quite often it doesn't make any sense at all, or is just repeating the same thing all over and over again. Stuff about which there has been about 1000 songs made already. We have heard the songs about *****es, ****, cars and hydrolics way too many times.

Gettin' anxious, go take a peek, I'm starring in your magazine now every day of the week
Guys, I think it's safe to say that rap is far superior to modern day poetry as well as 16th-18th century poetry. I mean god damn guys, we better pull our heads out of our asses and realize that metal = shit because it's not half as poetic! How could we be so naive...

God damn are you an idiot. If you even knew half of what you think you know you're talking about you'd know a verse is a lyric part in a song. I said that metal generally has more variation in their verses whereas rap will have 2 verses the same both times. You didn't even bother to comment on that. Why not? Because you're a dumbass and everyone knows you are so just shut the **** up before I further proceed to own your *** at life.

True..too true. Rap is retarded, when you sit and listen to it all you here is f**k and s**t and cars and love, and money, thats about it, the rest of the song is huahhahahuehsfjdsfsd. Rap also makes your grammer and spelling bad for example read what T-Pac said... man it makes me laugh so hard.

kevin federline is not a rapper hes just some white guy that thinks he can rap. i mean hes dating britney spears...

you guys are immature. "RAP SUCKS YOU GUYS SUCK ROCK IS SOOO MUCH BETTER. I WILL FLAME YOU IF YOU LIKE RAP" if you had a GOOD reason then fine but not "BECAUSE THEY SOUND LIKE HLSDKF" "BECAUSE KEVIN FEDERLINE SUCKS"

Rasict. You can even say theres black or white rap its just rap...ICP there jokers sure used to listen to em...they try to hard at dissin eminem..ICP is more like alterative/rap...and most you people say rap has no meanin to it..you really dont know. listen to sum lyrics from Immortal Technquie..He ****in talks how they raped his boys mom....and as for all the same verses and shit.....that because most people Hussle and do crimes so therefore that is what there rappin about...like young jeezy and Juelz Santana

    Jeezy is the next pac.
Santana Almost every kids role model....sure he talks about cookin coke and turnin it into crack a lot but he can.

As for Beats There not easy to make sumtimes producers spend lots of time just to make a hit beat.

Where metal u can just hit sum drums and flings strings on a guitar and scream and u get a bunch of lunatics following

TO me and day Metal And Emo And Like Hardcore Rock < Rap N Techno

im not saying i dont like rock 100% i listen to the classics because thats what my parents listen to so i dont mind it like AC/DC Pink Floyd / Metallica

    So Theres My 2 Cents.
