wats best char for doing stuff in hell?

hi everyone...i want to know wat is the best character to do thing in hell...ive heard hammerdins r good, but ive heard smiters r best at getting hellfire solo...so please answer each question with a character...

1. wats best char to give hell rushes??
2. wtf is this "iron maiden" in act 4 that barbs r scared of? and wat does it do?
3. wats best char to get hellfire charm solo, like get keys and do uber trist solo?
4. wats best char to do hell baal runs???
5. wats best char to do the usual runs in hell (trist, tombs, cows, chaos, other)?
6. wats best char to kill uber d to get anni, SOLO?
7. wat is best overall char that i should take to hell to do crap and kill crap in hell?
8. wat is best pk char??

ok thats all the questions i can remember...please help me out

1. Sorcs or hammerdins (pick ur sorc) Hammerdins cant be blocked really unlike sorcs which have monsters immunities. Necro summoners are good too

2. Pretty much takes the damage that you do to them and gives it to you. Only works on melee characters

3. Smiter (type of pally)

4. Same as #1

6. Smiter is best hammerdins are great too

Disadvantages of Light Sorcs

- Different and slower casting for lightning and chain lightning.
- High mana costs on (chain) lightning. This is in particular annoying for PvM since in PvP you'll be mostly casting teleport and lightning.
- No static field to help with immune monsters, since they're immune to lightning on which static will not help, where you can static half the health away from immunes when using cold-tree or fire-tree sorceresses.
- Low minimum damage. Fireball is more consistent; this is generally seen as an advantage.
- One element, which means you have to rely on your mercenary for lightning immunes. This is only an issue in PvM of course. Lightning can be absorbed with the right equipment, but so can fire or cold.
If you've read this and you really can't stand the disadvantages such as the minimum damage of 5, stop reading now and find another build that suits you better.

1) Prob hammerdin b/c they tele (if you have nigma) and u don't have to worry about maiden in chaos. If you don't have a nigma, you will have a tough time with the maggot lair in act 2 because of the tight hallways. Make sure u can tele if you do hell runs, otherwise don't bother. It takes waaaay too long.

2) Iron Maiden returns damage done by melee attacks back to the attacker. The amount of damage returned depends on the level of the iron maiden skill. For instance, lvl 1 iron maiden returns 200% damage. So, if you attack a monster when lvl 1 maiden was cast on you, and your damage is 2K, you will receive 4K damage. This is why barbs and other meleers die in chaos every now and then. Note that magic attacks (eg. blessed hammer from hammerdins) aren't effected by this, hence the character choice for #1.

3) Either a smiter or a zealer, both of which are expensive to make. Zealers are slightly less expensive, since you don't need a greif. Either way, you need LOTS of leech life, crushing blow, and prevent monster heal if you want to have any chance of soloing uber tristram.

4) Zealer/Smiter again. Fast attacks, leeching, lots of damage. Hammerdins are OK too, if they have the best equipment. Sorcs are hard because of immunes, unless you have a very versatile one.

5) Hammerdins for chaos, key runs, and cows (prob tombs too), smiters/zealers for others. If you are doing uber trist, try to get a zealer, hamemrdin, and smiter together and use eachothers auras. (eg. defiance, fanat, conc) Also, make sure someone can bo!

6) Again, smiter/zealer. I don't know how often you will solo uber D, though. Usually you have a lot of people trading sojs trying to hunt for him. If I'm not mistaken, uber D spawns depending on a certain number of times an soj is traded. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one, I've never done this)

7) This is pretty much opinion. Whatever you have most fun with and can afford to make. My first character was a hammerdin, and I still key run with him all the time.

8) Prob a lit sorc because of the massive damage they can do (over 46K). Plus, with the tele skill, you can pop up on someone, cast lit/static field, and poof! Dead. Just make sure u can hold ur own in case they can tele too. If they manage to escape and come after u, u might me the one PKd.

If you noticed, I'm kinda heavy on the pally classes, just because they are so versatile. You can pretty much do everything with a hammerdin, zealer, and smiter, plus a few friends in case you need help with something. Hope this helps!

ok so far lots of ppl have said that hammerdins r good...now the surprise: i have no idea wtf a hammerdin is ROFL...i just know its a pally...so ill prolly go read a character building guide or sumthing or ill come to u helping peeps! i was soooo tired of mf crap so i thought ide make a hell-char that can get me rich by not mfing (hellfire, keys) well thanks alot guys...ne other tips r appreciated, and dont forget my new question#9...and dont be lazy to help me out please! i want more ppl's opinions to be 100% sure! and dont worry about expense of gear, i have patience and ill get my gear from sumwhere lol...thank you alot ppl u guys help out alot!

9) Hammerdins for keys because of tele with nigma, Zealer/Smiter for organs b/c hammerdins can't kill mini ubers.

Hammerdins use blessed hammer and concentration aura. Also, use holy shield for def. Here's what you need for it:

Stats: enuf STR/DEX for equip, base NRG, rest in VIT
Skills: max CONC/Blessed Hammer/Synergies, rest in holy shield
Equip: Um'd shako, Um'd HOZ, 35+ res HOTO, enigma (pref archon plate), Arach, Upped Magefist, Sand Treks, Mara's, Ravens, SOJ, CTA for switch weapon (5+ bo is pref), and Lidless wall for switch shield.

Merc: Act 2 Defensive merc
Equip: Andy's Visage, Insight, w/e armor u want (I use Gladiator's Bane). Just be sure to get an insight for the mana regen, u'll need it for the teleing ull be doing since you won't have much mana.

hey thank you snipz and dumediat for taking the time to help me out...i might need sum help getting the gear tho...and commandwolf, ive bin playing d2 for 3 years, i had a lvl 90 mf sorc that was very good, with fathom. but too bad it got banned lol...its just that i have bin away from the game for a long time and i havent messed with ne character except barb, cold sorc, and java/bow zon...

In My Opinion:

1. Hammerdin w/ Enigma... can take more damage than sorc but slow Cast rate

Hey anything you can think of is good but it all depends on how you want to play it because there is no best charater it's just the way you use them

didnt see anyone mention it... but to step away from the cookie cutter crap of paladins... Best D-Clone killer solo is a Dtalon or Hybrid Dtalon sin. For those who don't know, a decent Dtalon sin will always outdo a Smiter

and the build only requires 20 skill points, everything else you do with the build is up to you.
