Oh my my, when I first came to D2, I fell for the drop trades. Lost a wf and coh . I never fell for the "push cancel really fast then pretend its not working then swap the item and press it again" trick. Haha.

well i hav a story to tell, when i just got my act together in 1.10. meaning i got a few decent items a nice mf char and all setup i got befriended by this guy. he seemd like a good enuff bloke, i was abl 2 xfer stuf while he was in my games and nothin would get taken. After a while he told me bout this bot he uses and how it would make my mfing so much easier.
And i fell for it being the foolish person i am. I got sent the bot and it was way too complex for me to understand but i had a crack at it anyway and i couldnt get it. so i askd him how i do lotsa stuff and he said dont worry i'll fix it for you with this bot editin program i have. So i sent him back a few files that he requested and one of em there was a certain file he said that i was not allowd to open otherwise i would ruin the bot. He had spent at least half an hour on "fixing the bot".
By that time i started to worry something else was happenin, cos i can get pretty paranoid at times. so i copied and opened the file i was neva to open and there inside was a copy of my acct name and login and after i askd him bout it he said u deserved this.
The nicest thing he did was only take stuff of value n not delete my chars thank god oh and leave my password which i immediately changed. So yeah thats my scam story. I learnt my lesson from it sorta, i only trust things that i hav found off here and now and sumtimes i even doubt them.

in 1.10 there was a site, in fact i still remember it, i think it was along the lines of d2junior.250free.com You whent to this site, *with diablo mined* then click join clan, next thing you know your watching your char spaz around droping every item on him and in the stash you couldnt type, or move your mouse. only thing to do was unplug your pc. by the way im not the on who fell for it, a friend did.

ps: its gone now thanks to me ^_^ reported it, put a couple trojans on the update file of the site. and that was that.* so if anyone tryed to update it, bada bing bada boom.

I had this guy on my friendlist early on 1.11b. Now he constantly told me that he was a scammer and that he has scammed many, i didnt care cause i never xfered near him..............so one day he wanted to show me a kewl trick so he tells me to go outside the wall in act1 and drop something. So i was a lvl 92 Hammerdin, and he was like a lvl 85 sorc. well anyways i dropped a a low hoto that id been trying to trade. and he hostiled me, yet his sorcs merc couldnt kill me in one hit. So i take like 2 merc hits then i grab the hoto and teleport back to town. Meanwhile im laughing throughout his desperate attempt

I fell to the /dnd scam, then I quit and now I'm back playing again.

The first scam I fell for was the "vote for me and get a wf" thing where you download a program and it drops all your stuff. At the time i didn't know they had stuff like that (It was right when I started) and I lost a buriza, shaftstop, highlords, string of ears, and a soj (all cheap stuff, easy to get in 1.09). Then, like a month later, I fell for the /dnd account pass scam lol. I didn't lose much from that either since I only had that account for a month.

This wasn't a scam, but one of my accounts got deleted really early on and I never figured out how. I had a level 77 werewolf druid that used a lightsabre...I was using mh at the time so I blamed blizzard for deleting my account and started a new account all_legit (on which I also used mh on, but never caught).

I got scamed when i didnt know about this drop hack in act 2 anyways i wanted to trade my tal ammy for a um than this guy joined my game and said that he have a low ptorch thats he is willing to trade for it, so than we went off to act 2 and walked over to the palace and drop our items.Just when i was about to get that tourch i got droped.

And ever since than i never did a drop trade ever again

The only time that I have ever been scammed, is when I trusted my friend enough to just do a virus scan on a file that he sent me and not take the time to decompile it. He was a good online friend of mine, but it was a drophack and that was that. Careless mistake cost me quite a few items.

only scam I ever 'fell for' was the act 2 drop hack. I had a feeling it was a scam, but I usaully go along till I firgure it out. This one I never figured out, I jsut didn't think it was possible o do something like the act 2 drop hack. I lost a +2 valor, it wasn't eth so no big deal.
