Default How the Immigration Rallies Affected ME Today.

Ok, to start, I went to dennys to eat a hardy breakfast. Guess what? "We have no cooks today on account of the rally, want something to drink instead?" A little confused, I settled for a slice of day old pie and a milkshake. Good enough.

Lunch comes along, Hmm, I think I would like a turkey sandwich. Guess what the french immigrant food preparer said? "The 2 latinos that deliver the meats never showed. I find this rather asinine that they want to be treated like americans while waving their mexican flag and expecting us to learn spanish. I don't go around waving the french flag demanding you to learn french do I?"

Put down the picket signs and make me a ****in meat lovers grand slam. It's your AMERICAN job. Isn't this the reason they're rallying? To be treated like americans?

I'm not racist. I just think this is all rather stupid.

Opinions please. Don't care if it's against me. Flame away if you must.

****ing stupid. I'm of Mexican decent, I didn't ditch school. The only person they're hurting is them selves. I was glad that the "gangster" mexican kids didn't come. Class is alot more enjoyable with out their loud mouths saying stupid shit.

well i do not intend to flame you, but what they are asking for is the right to work here and stay here to do there jobs. as an illegal they can be deported back to whatever country they came from. i would just like to take the time to emphasize democracy at work here. this showed the power that the immigrants have, and think about it, they have only flexed their muscles, imagine if they carried on for a week? this would have brought america down to its knees. using historical context, i can relate this to the Birmingham bus boycotts that was used to end the segregation

    Additional Comment:
oh and, to maybe avoid any questions down the road.. i am chinese and support them to an extent

What's wrong with obtaining citizenship and avoiding all this shit?

First of all, they are here illegally. That means they shouldn't be here in the first place. If they want to stay here, they should go back to where they belong and file some paper work to get in line to be Americans. That's how it should be done in the utmost sense.

    agrees with blindman.

first off, they couldn't bring america to it's knees. they could however hurt the food industry and every chinese restruant in the country.

secondly, who cares. they are ILLEGAL, there's all kinds of people who move to this country legitimately and do well for themselves. did you know if a foreign person comes here and decides to own a buisness, they get HUGE tax breaks for 5 years, i'm talking about tax breaks for their buisness soo HUGE it's basicly $0.

i have an arab friend (well he's not really a friend, but i talk to him alot) and he said what his family has been doing for years. they get one member of their family to come over to the states. after the 5 years are over, they get another member of their family to come over & sell the buisness to the next member of the family, another 5 years, ect... his family owns a gas station.

what does this have to do with the mexicans? nothing. but i still think it's ****d up, that our country makes it easier for foreigners to come here and have success then people who are born here.

now back to the mexicans. this is taken from another person on a different forum and i agree with this to the T:

That ****ing nationwide boycott is bull****. It's a slap in the face to anyone who ever did it the right way and to their descendants. They don't deserve to be Americans. And this sympathy card that they're trying to work is just pathetic.

I go out of my way to not discriminate, so understand I'm not against Latinos becoming Americans, but I am against anyone getting a free-ride or unfair advantage and that's what they're whining for.
let me break it down for you... they want to keep under-the-table jobs (ie: not pay taxes), they want to stay here ILLEGALY, and they want people to give a flying **** about them for all of it.

if they want to stay here... well ok, you can stay. but you have to pay taxes like my ass, you have to get a green card like lots of my friends did, and you have to be eligible for the draft. just like my ass.

that's all i have to say on this subject. if they don't want to do it...F*** them.

haha, good one about the chinese restruants.
not only will they be hurt, but what about the trashmen? janitors? crop gatherers? and any other low job? they can seriously hurt us. also, need i remind you that we all came here illegally some way or another. nobody can really say that they were a citizen of america except for the native americans.
also, they do pay taxes. they have to buy food and clothes and shelter, and what kind of a tax is that? dont tell me that they arent paying sales tax or income tax, that gets deducted automatically from their salary
thirdly, what are you going to do about them? we cant deport over 50 million people..

They should have been going through the crowds asking for green cards and making arrests.

    it's 11 million, not 60.

ok. your point is valid. it will hurt us. but your above post about it bringing us to our knees is an over statement. people are willing to take these jobs, people just don't get the jobs because the position has already been filled by an illegal immigrant who's willing to work for less. see minimum wage is enforced by the government for the good of american citizens. if an illegal comes up willing to work for less. who would you hire? and no not all janitors and trashmen are spanish & i would even say that hardly any of them are illegal...you know why? it's a government job.

11 million of 300 million people in the US. not to mention the fact that only 1 million showed up. just goes to show that for every 1 million that won't do the job.. 10 million more are willing to work without *****ing for a sympathy green-card.

their taxes may be deducted from their pay. but it doesn't go to pay for the stuff me and you pay for. it stays in the pocket of their employer.

and my family immigrated to this country through legal means. with a green card, thus making them american citizens, thus making their children the same.

no you can't deport them all. but **** them... don't give into their demands.

the thing that pisses me off besides these protests is the fact that everyone keeps saying they want to be Americans. they already are, as Mexico is part of North America. so that shit about how we are all illegal may be true for america, but then the mexicians are illegal immigrants too because they took over the Aztecs. quit profileing. also, they are comming to the United States. not america, they are illegal immigerants of the United States, and that is what people are fighting. do u get it yet? dont pull that bullshit about how everyone is illegal immigerants because its the people who FOUNDED THIS COUNTRY that are here, or people who immegrated here legally. i can trace my heritage back to the times of jefferson and washington, i also have native american blood in me, so hmm, i guess i'm a legal citizen

I was in Jacksonville FL yesterday. Rallies? What rallies? Now you can't tell me there are no illegals in that city, but for some reason they kept a very low profile. Anyone have a guess as to why? I am thinking that maybe the INS in that city doesn't put up with that sort of BS. Maybe they were scared or maybe the illegals in that city realize that the rest of the population is pissed about ILLEGAL immigrants. Call me what you want but I don't want anything to do with illegal immigration. I will be more than happy to support reforming the current legal process; I have serveral friends that have been through it and I am amazed how much was asked of them. Kudos to all those who successfully went through that. They know more about this country than most high school students or college student too. Can we deport all illegals from this country? I doubt it. But if you use the same logic do we catch all bank robbers? rapists? murderers? Should we stop trying?

Some dude on MSNBC last night had a good point between illegals and immigrants. I don't remember what it was (shame on me) but it was like, "Hell yeah, dude."

I don't support them and people who are morons.

no all the legal immigrants went to rally to make it legal for all their other buddies across the border to come into this country. i personally can't stand it. if those immagrants are legal american citizens why don't they show some loyalty and support the bill. all these illegals take jobs from american citizens. also wouldn't they want people to have to go through all the shit they did to come into this country?

It got under my skin. "Illegal Immigrant Rally" and hardly any arrests.

What's next? Lets hold an Illegal Drug Rally, or perhaps an Illegal Pedophile Rally also? Anyone else want special treatment courtesy of Uncle Sam?

And for those saying they take all these unwated jobs, give me a break. These jobs existed before the influx of immigrants, and people did work out in the fields. Cheap-ass farmers use mexicans to pick their crops because paying them for a MONTH to do this is cheaper then making a monthly payment on a combine. For those of you folk that don't know what a combine is for then f'ing educate yourself.

The workers are doing it to themselves, there should be stricter laws against harboring illegal immigrants, or there should be laws and programs in place to teach english and get a visa by working FOR FAIR PAY.

BTW nice post tool. I saw some program the other night that said something that I think was cool also.

They have that already. It's called the Million Man ********* March (I think) and it happens nationally, I believe, on May 6th. You're told that when you go into it to expect to get arrested. I feel you.

Also, my post was actually pretty pointless now that I look at it. =\ But seriously, he made the best comparison I had ever heard. It was that Tucker (Carlson I think is his last name?) dude. He pisses me off when he puts out that conservative vs. liberal bullshit but other than that he's pretty right on about most of the shit he talks about.

Good lord, you guys are right.

But upon further thought I do think today's rally was a good thing.

Hopefully such a blatant disregard of the law should be a waking call to a lot of people that this is really out of control, and hopefully poloticians will follow suit. If there is one I hate about our society is that it's too lazy to protest. Forget anti-war or anti-aboirtion or anti-god protests, the real issues are tied in with your money. We should be holding anti-tax protests (You realize the gas tax is like around 60 cents?!), or pro-union protests (Worker's rights all the way), or things of the nature.

At least the illegal immigrants were organized to hold such a large protest, I don't think our entire legal population would come together for any cause in that magnitude.

Ok way off topic man...plus if the gas companies have to pay more money to sell gas then they're in turn going to charge more.
