Icewind Dale

Has anyone ever played Icewind Dale, the first one. Did you think it was good and did you use cheats and/or hacks?

I never use cheats on a game until I've actualy beaten it and I loved Icewind Dale. The books are even better and I just got through reading The Dark Elf Trilogy about Drizzt's history.

I didn't know that they had books out. Hmmm...and it was a great game.

I played the second one which was decent, but I liked Baldur's Gate 2 better.

I still am looking for a copy of Planescape : Torment..

I didn't use cheats the first time around, but when it comes to games I love to tinker so I did cheat through the second time to just play around and whatnot.

I have played Planescape. That is a great game. The talking skull cracks me up.

In Icewind? Yes, it is a bit difficult at first. The trick is to do every single quest you can in the the first town. That will give you your starting xp. Then, you save your char(s) and export them. Start a new game and import your char(s) from the other game, with the experiance and items you exported them with. Repeat until satisfied. You should only have to do it about 2 or 3 times in order ot go to the next area and not get slaughtered by weak goblins (that's just embarresing).
