How to work No Cd Loader?

u should make sure the directed path (ie c:/prgramme files/ diablo ii/ diablo ii.exe) is right , i had that problem too just coz i kept spelling programme wrong

ya im having the same problem....i have copied all the files and everything but whenever i try to load d2 it starts to load but then it stops....the hourglass comes up then goes away. can some1 help me.

ok guys heres how u work onlyers d2 loader ( if u have a different loader delete it and get onlyers)

first of all u need the version compatible with 1.10
then all u do is extract the file called diabloii.exe to your diablo 2 directory.
when you do this it will automatically create a new directory called "loader" inside your d2 directory.

second make sure you back up you original diabloii.exe file to somewhere safe you never know if you will need to restore the original. ( this file is in your diablo 2 directory)

third go into the folder named "loader" that it automatically created when you extracted the file and copy the loaders diabloii.exe from there then paste into you diablo 2 directory and overwrite the original.

fourth, in order to play the game with no cd whatsoever you will need to copy d2music.mpq off of you play disc into your diablo 2 directory. (if you play expansion there are a few more files you will need, but since i dont play expansion you can look at the read me and figure it out for yourself).

And there ya go =)


p.s - think you guys can give me a better title then daemon spawn~

. Getting Started (99639)

Before you get started with the D2Loader files, be sure that you have installed both Diablo II and Diablo II Lord of Destruction with the FULL option. This will load many of the files onto your hard drive that will help you run without a LoD CD. However, as you will see below, there are additional files that you must hand copy into your \Diablo II folder.

As another important point, be sure to installed the Diablo II 1.10 patch level (this version of D2Loader will not work with 1.09). To verify the patch level, start up Diablo II LoD and look in the lower left-hand corner when the main menu is displayed--you should see a "v 1.10" indicating that the 1.10 patch level is installed.

If you haven't already, download d2Loader_110.zip - D2Loader for patch level 1.10 and extract the contents into a new folder. This should create a \d2loader sub-folder with 6 files, including d2hack.script and Diablo II.exe amongst others.

You should also download d2multienable.zip - D2 Multi Copy Enable and extract the contents in the same folder as above. This should create a \d2multienable sub-folder with 2 files, D2gfx.dll and readme.txt.

2. Installing D2Loader and D2Multienable (99643)

Once you have downloaded d2loader_110.zip and d2multienable.zip, and extracted the contents of both .zip archives into a new folder, you should have two new sub-folders, \d2loader and \d2multienable.

Create a third sub-folder \D2restore and go to your Diablo II LoD (D2 LoD) directory (the default path is C:\Program Files\Diablo II). From there, copy Diablo II.exe and D2gfx.dll to your new \D2restore sub-folder.

Now go to \d2loader and copy Diablo II.exe and d2hack.script into your D2 LoD directory, overlaying the original Diablo II.exe file. Also go to \d2multienable and copy D2gfx.dll into your D2 LoD directory, overlaying the original D2gfx.dll file.

This completes the basic installation of D2Loader and Multi-copy Enable and you are now ready to begin the additional steps to prepare D2 LoD to run without the CD and to run multiple copies (see the next section, below).

3. Running without your CD (99651)

Once you have completed the basic installation of D2Loader, you should review the D2Loader readme.txt file. In that file, you will see instructions regarding the files shown below. Copy these files to your hard drive ONLY if they are NOT already there:

o d2char.mpq and
o d2music.mpq from the Diablo II Play Disc

As well as copy the files:

o d2xmusic.mpq and
o d2xvideo.mpq from the Diablo II Expansion Set Lord of Destruction CD.

If needed, copy these files from their respective CDs to the Diablo II directory (the default path is C:\Program Files\Diablo II). Be forewarned that these files are huge and will require around 750 MB of free space.

After copying these files to your hard drive, you should be able to run Diablo II Lord of Destruction without needing your CD in the CD drive.


4. Running multiple copies (99658)

Once you have completed the basic installation of D2Loader and Multi-copy Enable, you should review the D2Loader readme.txt file for optional parameters that you can use.

In particular, in order for you to run multiple copies of Diablo II LoD (D2 LoD) on your desktop (i.e., have two different characters fight each other on your desktop), you must add the -multiclient parameter to your Windows shortcut.

To do this, copy your current D2 LoD shortcut to the desktop (if it is already on the desktop, make a 2nd copy). Rename it to a reasonable name, such as Diablo II - Multiclient. Right-click on the icon and select properties. Click on the Shortcut tab (if it isn't already displayed) and look in the "Target" input box. After the path and filename, insert at least one blank and then add -multiclient, so that the full contents of the input box look like:

(assuming that you used the default path when you installed D2 LoD).

Now to test your character against a downloaded clone, double-click on this new icon. When the main D2 LoD menu comes up, click on Other Multiplayer and then on TCP/IP Game. Finally, click on Host Game and select your character to be tested.

Once the game appears, alt-esc back to your desktop and double-click on this new icon a second time. When the main D2 LoD menu comes up, click on Other Multiplayer and then on TCP/IP Game. Finally, click on Join Game, enter and/or confirm a Host IP address of 127.0.0.1 (to select your own PC) and select the opponent or clone character.

Now you can alt-tab switch between D2 LoD sessions and fight each character against the other to see how your latest character changes affect your character's ability to duel.

NOTE: If you have trouble with switching back and forth between the two D2 LoD sessions (some sort of "We got a big error, here" message), then you may have to use windowed sessions. To do this, add the -w parameter to your Windows shortcut so that the full contents of the "Target" input box look like:

yes its legit and both the link and the attached file work so iono wtf ur talkin about....
see if i go to much trouble to help u newbs again.
and u dont need to install the full version of both classic and expansion.
i have only classic multiplayer and my loader works fine.

Aight, I got the NoCDLoader to work. Now, when I try to get on bnet, it sais that my cdkey is for another game. I raed the " d2-cdkey.txt " but I cant understand what you are supposed to do.

I). How to use:
1. run "Diablo II.exe" with argument "-multiclient", also,
for better performance, i suggest you to use "-w" or other things
like "-ns" together.(see the example.bat,you can make a shortcut
instead)

What dont hey mean by " with argument " ?
