    Default MF Sorceress (Help please)

I currently have a level 76 Blizzard sorceress on USEast non-ladder. I would like to know if there is any real qay to Magic Find with a character whilst having absolutely no cash resources whatsoever.

The reason I ask this is because every single MF sorc guide i read says "j00 must haf 5ist or dis wont wurk k thx bai" or starts the items list off with Harlequin crest and moves on through tal's and the like...

For a person just making a first-character mfer its pretty much humanly impossible to have these items coming in right off the bat.

Just so you would know ive read nearly every guide to MF sorcs on this site and have yet to find ONE that helps new players get started or lists ways to get cheap MF gear or shows any way at all to find simple blue items with % MF on them.

What i need answered is the following:
    1) Is there any easy way to increase my %MF with the equipment i have? (Listed below)
    2) If so, will it be costly?
    3) What areas can I MF with this character?
    4) What uniques should I want for this character, that I can MF from the mentioned areas?

    MFing Items:
Helm: +1 Sorc skills +5% mf +11% all resists Circlet (Socketed: Flawless topaz) (25% mf)
Armor: Heavenly Garb (Socketed: Flawless Topaz) (20% mf)
Weapon: +3 Cold Skills +50 mana Sorceress Only Orb
Shield: 'Wealth' Kite Shield (20% mf)
    Belt: Lightning Resist, 4 slot
    Gloves: 24% MF
    Boots: Natalya's Soul
    Ring: Nagelring (27% MF)
    Ring: +91 Mana
    Amulet: 12% MF ammy
Small charms: No MF small charms to date
    Total MF: 128%

    Non MF items:
Helm: +1 Sorc skills +5% mf +11% all resists CircletArmor: Heavenly Garb
Weapon: +3 Cold Skills +50 mana Sorceress Only Orb
Shield: "Visceratuant," +1 Sorceress Skills Shield
    Belt: Lighning resist, 4 slot
    Glovs: 24% MF
    Boots: Natalya's Soul
Ring: +75 Mana, Small Ab, Small fire resist
    Ring: +91 Mana
    Amulet: 10% FCR ammy

I(on my nl) actually started out with a barb. Diablo II is just like the saying, it take smoney to make money. But for a sorc thats not that good, I recommend group games like chaos and just try to get those drops(for everyone ladder, nl is different peple can get drops sometimes since theres lots of chaos games). Also, you're not going to be strong at lvl76. Go to like lvl85-90. What's your blizz dmg? At 5-6k(which is fairly low) went straight through cows. Cows are nice because you sometimes find hrs and keep that socketed gear(3os sup archon, 4os eth vortex etc.). When you get good enough gear, then you can bot and then the nice items will really start coming in. You always start off slow but once you're rich you get lots of good items quick.

At the moment my blizzard damage is about 3000-3200 and i think ice bolt is level 8 or so. the problem is with chaos games everyone wants the drops and the stupid melee who doesnt deal any dmg to the creature gets the majority of the drops cuz hes right there when the thing dies.

Did you read through my guide?
    http://www.blizzsector.co/character-...other-one.html

Contains cheap equipment, places to MF, etc.

Id seen you post that many times and ive read it and even copied it into wordpad, but the problem is that my blizzard damage doesnt seem to be able to cut it (or my HP is too low, my resists cant take elemental damage, etc), or i just have too hard of a time actually getting to the run (mephisto, im looking at you).

I'll give it another look through i guess.

EDIT: Your guide does cover the bosses well, but ive also head of areas you can MF such as the pit and whatnot.... anyone have a more complete list of all the good MF areas?

Good MF areas are all with an area level of 85, such as Pit, Ancient Tunnels, Worldstone Keep, Chaos Sanctuary, but they are very hard for a sorc without Infinity. Anyway, just use the gear that I suggested, such as Wizardspike. Elemental dam won't hit you any more.

if you have an mfer you must lvl it up. By lvling you raise you life, hp and mana. and thats why i started out with a abrb, i always got the drops. I made a ww barb, cold sorc, ww barb went to make gg con barb, then cold sorc went to make gg lit sorc then i made an hdin.

Another thing: If im going to do Hell Meph runs what dmg should i have my blizz at?

In order to have positive resists in hell, i deal about 2500-2800 blizz damage
If i drop 75 resists in each element, I can up this to about 3280-3540.

The question is, do i go with somewhat decent resists in hell or go for more damage?

Another problem: My resists in hell are about 25 / 15 / 45 / 20 with MF gear on. My shield currently offers only 20% MF and is thus swappable. What can i put in this slot instead that is easily accesible and can up my resists to cap (or damn close) in hell?

I was thinking ancient's pledge would work if nothing else, but i really need to have these resists or i get utterly obliterated by meph's minions.

It depends. Try doing a few runs with negative resists. If you can pull them off with considerable ease, there's no problem. If you are constantly dieing, then boost your resists more.

Another thing is when I still used to MF with my sorc, I used to make a portal each time I reached Meph, so in case I died, I could come through the portal and finish him off (pick up your body first, or you will not get the MF bonus).

And if it's still hard, use the "Meph bug". It can easily be done with Blizzard.

I use the moat trick and the meph bug, but the problem i find most with moat trick is the stupid cold immune Blood Lords often spawn as a unique patch to the immediate left of the main doorway.

Last time i meph glitched i ended up ying twice cuz he got loose on me =X.

OH well i guess i need to try.

yea the blood lords are a pain in the rear but I find that they only spawn on once side or the other correct? Anyway just lure any monsters on the side of the moat you want to fight meph on to the other side with Tele and what not..other than that just make sure you keep meph just on the top of your screen..you can lure him near the portal too and he won't do anything either. Just keep trying and you should get it.

hmm... cant u just get a merc with andy helm and tele in his face static and just attack? since merc will life leech and u heal it once or twice it shuold be a sinch right?

That works too but meh havn't thought about what merc I would use guess I'd get an infinity for him or something...andy's sounds good but what about armor..my guess would be fort for him or something else...and is it still true that the +mf your merc has is added to yours or have they done something about that.....

Other question is if your merc kills the boss does his personal MF apply to the kill, generally resulting in nothing, or will it still use your characters mf.

If your merc applies the final blow to a monster and kills him, your MF will be ADDED to the mercs mf, and that will be the MF.

Example: Let's say you have 300 mf and your merc has 75. If you kill a monster with your character, that would be 300% MF; however if your merc delivers the final blow, that would be 375% MF. ~jedi

My problem is that the council member on the right side has a chance of spawning with an immunity too, thus i can kill the entire surrounding mob, but not the council member himself.

EDIT: And which trick works better (IE Safer), the moat trick or the "glitch"?

I went with 97 strength 75 dex enough energy to hit around 100 and then dump in vita.

For skills on a blizzy u want to save enough points to have 10 points saved at all times. Place only in prereqs for blizard, 1 point of warmth, 1 point of telekenesis and teleport, 1 point of Static Field, and then the prerequisites for the armor of your choosing.

Remaining points, i personally am investing into warmth.
