Default Q: My D2Loader No-Cd Will Not Work

i downloaded d2loader, the latest version (november 2005), and extracted the diablo ii.exe to my diablo directory, and replaced the old one. (i copied/pasted the old one into a different folder before). i double click the diablo ii.exe file, and it gives the clock/timer thing for a few seconds, and then it disapears, and nothing happens - no error message or anything, and diablo does not open. i press ctrl + alt + delete, and check processes, and it says diablo is running.. but it does not open.. please help, im probably the only person on east that cant get this simple loader to work.

To use it without a CD you need to take the two MPQ files off of the CD and put them into your Diablo II folder (the d2xvideo.mpq and d2xmusic.mpq files). Try doing that and see if D2Loader will work then.

They will be on your play CD, the one you need to play Diablo II

I have been using my expansion CD, the one I use to play diablo. It still does not work, here is what I have done.

    Downloaded the november 2005 loader
opened it in winzip, clicked on the diablo ii.exe, clicked extract, put it in my c/program files/diablo ii directory, and replaced my original one. (i copied and pasted my old one to a different folder meanwhile). I copied and pasted the two files from the d drive (right click/open, highlight both and copy) into the diablo ii directory, where the loader is. i double clikc the loader, the timer/clock goes on for a few seconds, then goes away. same as before.. it shows diablo ii.exe as a running process under CTRL ALT DELETE, but it just doesnt open.. this is so annoying. any other ideas?

Do you use classic or expansion and you have to 1.11B patch installed?

If ur running on calssic d2, d2laoder wont work. Also make sure you have the lastest patch installed

If this still doesnt work, try renaming d2loader to Diablo II (not diablo ii.exe because then it'll say "diablo ii.exe.exe" in task manager)

I like to thank Frogman for making my awesome sig!

sry.. i have all this installed, and it still does not work..
i added a couple files a long time ago somewhere in my system so a bot could work, the bot wouldnt work without these. do you think these two files are disrupting it? i have no idea what the problem is.. have you ever seen this problem before? i guess you do not have anymore advice you can give me :S

I think I know your problem. Put the original one back. Install the latest patch first THEN put in your no cd file and mpqs in the folder. Some people try to use the nocd without putting the current patch first but you HAVE to put the current patch first.
