    Default Kerry Belittles Us Troops

On Monday, Kerry belittled the educational level of US troops, when he said to the assembled students: “You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

war time presidents are always hated. they always have ppl blame them for everything, making other excuses for why they wanted to declare war, ect. thats just how it works. people need a person to blame things on and since war is the biggest controversy of mankind...obviously he will be hated. theres one thing that you need to realize though. As long as mankind exhists on this earth, there will be war. its as simple as that. just get over it already :P

his situation was a bit different, the only reason we went to war then was because we were attacked. the ppl loved him. quite like how bush was the highest rated president in the history of the US during his first term due to his response to 9/11. (btw im independant, so dont think im defending bush in everything i say)

of coarse kerry's office will say that. he ****ed up, and it caused a "political firestorm", do u think they will not make up some excuse to cover it up? of coarse they will. this is the worst possible time for them to mess up, right b4 the midterm elections.

the president isnt blowing anything up, he is just saying what the people already felt. a girl posted that part of the speach on youtube and it had over 500,000 hits in less then a day. people are pissed, the president didnt do it.

im not mad about war, im mad about why people hate bush for no reason, its rediculus. however, war or not, after they bombed us, no matter what he did he woulda been hated. and catching osama is not an option that he coulda done because he escaped and thats not bushes fault

just watched bush's response...notice that bush is actually a good speaker when he has something important to say...i bet he unfortunately isnt used to getting that much applause.

WOW kerry's response is such complete and utter bullshit.

no he didnt apologize he said that he meant to say it about bush and not the troops. however, if you listen to the whole kerry speech, he was talkin about the troops and just the troops. he is just tryin to cover his ass because what he said caused a huge political firestorm and this being only days before midterm elections. this is exactly the type of thing that reds were waiting for, something to turn the tides. kerry did just that, lol.

Blood your right hahaha. he speaks very well when he isnt told what to say word for word!

Do you have any percentage of how many high school dropouts actually go into the armed forces? Do you realize out of all of those how many are truly stupid, ignorant, dumb, etc.? Kerry was merely stating the truth, and if you can't even see that little fact, you've got a ****ing hole in your brain.

Moved to flame wars just so I could get that across.

i think you're a fool to deny the fact that a large chunk of people who join the armed forces do so to get a free or reduced education.

you tell him to quit being an asshole? dude wtf are u talkin about, this is what u said. just because they join to get a free or reduced education doesnt make them stupid you insenstitive naeve jackass. just because ppl cant pay for school doesnt make them stupid. blood never said anything like that.

Innocent people die from abortion? The fetus isn't even a sentient being that early on. I think it's something like 5-6 months before the brains higher functions start to really develope, so are you honestly saying a bunch of cells that resemble an amorphous blob to be a human being?

So lets say a woman gets raped and becomes pregnant. Her fault for ****ing up? I know there are some states that have abortion banned in all variations with this situation as an exception. If in either situation a baby wasn't intended, how can you be for "killing life" in one situation but not another?
lol just because its still a bunch of cells doesnt mean it wont soon be a human being. if a women gets raped and wants an abortion, im all for that. that wasnt the mothers fault. but 99% of abortions are not from mothers that were raped.

Correct, but if we go with popular cultural stereotypes, most people who can't pay for school that go straight into the armed forces were never that decent at education anyways. I know it may seem farfetched to even make that statement, but look up the numbers for yourself. It's a hard truth nobody likes to admit, because nobody likes to be called stupid and have no way to defend it.

Now I'm not saying everyone who can't pay for education but goes into the military to get a free ride is dumb or ignorant. Plenty of smart people do this simply because they don't have much else. But the proportionality between the two is staggeringly lopsided.

Naive for believing a truth fact? No, sir. You are naive for naturally rejecting it. So naive it's ignorant. And I'm beginning to think you don't know the definition of 'hypocrite.'

Naivety isn't just the natural believing of any given fact or statement, but rather the natural rejection of any given fact or statement that may go against popular belief. Also see: Ignorance

you wanna show me where I said those who join the army are stupid? how is getting a free education stupid? i did very poorly as far as grades go in high school, yet received federal aid on my test scores alone. i know for a fact i am not "stupid," although my high school transcripts may lead people to believe so.

stop putting words in my mouth you piece of shit. i have the utmost respect for people who will risk their lives for the common good of others. they're most definitely better than I am. even if I don't agree with what they fight for, the sheer humbility and modesty it requires to risk your own life for others is beyond description.

that said, I do think John Kerry worded what he wanted to say entirely wrong. what he presented, however, does seem accurate in a sense. people who do poorly in gradeschool, or even college for that matter, and later decide to receive education cannot afford it. therefore, they may join the armed services to receive reduced or free education. right now, with Bush's policies and the war situation we're in.. joining the armed forces will probably put you in the Middle East fighting the "war on terrorism," that Kerry so openly opposes.

my god, I wasn't even being sarcastic in this thread, yet here I am spooning my words to you.

and no, mike never, ever said he thought people didn't join for free education, but the way he came off implied that people didn't. yeah, implied is a big word... it pretty much means that, even though it's not directly stated, that's what he probably ment, sort of like how I implied to you that I thought those who joined the armed forces were "stupid," and uneducated.. even though that's about as far from my beliefs as anything.

Kick me out of the country for having an opinion that actually makes sense? I think someone is getting a little butthurt here. Who is defending my freedom here? As far as I know, there are people with guns in another country trying to secure THEIR freedom for the alternative interests of aging white men.

I could make so many accusations just from what you said there, but I won't. Lets keep this issue on the topic, and not about how you can prove so many points with every idiotic post.

    btw thanks blood
So anybody labeled Democrat is stupid? Way to go Captain America. You might as well have stated you had no affiliation, because you disgrace even the Republican party with remarks like those. What's wrong with Gay Marriage? It doesn't affect you in any way, so stop *****ing. What's wrong with abortion? Should you decide what a woman has inside of her body, lest the government decide?

I especially like how you clearly define what kind of political candidate you would like to see, based on three major issues; two arguments and a party standpoint.

Off to another forum to argue with another ignorant person.
