    I have the same kind of problem. Hero Editor V0.96, it works fine on my other computer, but I downloaded it on this one because my bn realms got temp restricted to try some things out...

    Well it loads fine, but then I go to select my character and I get this error;

    ERROR: Character file size is too small!
    Either this file is probably not a valid character file (or pre-V1.09D),
    or your computer needs to be set for single byte letters/Unicode, NOT multiple byte letters/Unicode.
    Also, make sure that you set the 'regional and language settings' to English.

    ...well they are set to English, it is a valid character from the latest version of Diablo 2 LOD. This single byte mode for Unicode thing though, I have no idea how to check what thats set to for the general GUI in WinXP. Anybody have any idea?

    EDIT: Nevermind! I alt-tab'd out and was trying to load the program while Diablo was accessing it. It should just say that in the error!
