All about warden

Warden is a implementation of a anti-hack system that has always been apart of d2. The activation method of this system was only enabled recently, why? don't ask. It's just another one of battle.nets random phases.

Warden scans diablo's memory for changes that do not occur normally without modification.
Warden can and may also scan more than the memory of the game, there is far more battle.net has done with the warden for starcraft (thats a completely different story).

Now that that pretains too would be say that you have a mod thats for closed battle.net that modify the looks of the game, and thats all it does.
Warden can detect this as a hack not only because of the changed memory, but because it can scan the base image files within diablo, thats right, even the images.

Maphack

This is the most common diablo hack, and it modifies more memory and any other hack or mod you will ever use.
The only 'non detectable' maphack is Mousepads. Mousepads would come close to undetectable because it is manges the games memory better.
Hacking is all about the memory of a game, and in this case, memory is the key to beating warden.

Farcast

Now farcast may be called 'client side' but it makes no diffrence, it still injects and tampers with the memory of diablo, and is detectable.

Now my goal of this was to start a topic for people to discuss how warden functions. Also another point that will come up quiet frequently is that no hack will ever be undetectable, its all a matter of warden scanning the right memory spot, and all the matter of what warden looks for

Yeah, everyone I know who uses MH and in not banned still uses Sting's. All the big time ppl will tell you the same. It's even what one of the baal channels was didtributing to it's runners who didn't already have MH. Sting's with no plugins is far safer than all the others.

Seems to me that the comparison between stings and mousepads is a big topic.

Stings may be considered "safer" and hasnt gotten anyone banned because of the fact that it only reveals the map of a game, and doesnt do such things as light radius.

Stings is just as unsafe as any maphack, revealing the entire map at once is something battle.net doesnt want done, and it'd be something entirely easy for them to detect, no maphack is safe, so why not get the bonus?

And you didnt state anything either, i answered question, all you did was try and contradict what i said.

And not everyone knows that they have the same detectablity, how many times a day do you see a month old thread get replied to with a question like "is this detectable?"

As banning as accrued in massings I'm not sure to whether or not botting is indeed something you would be banned for.

On my part, I don't think you will be banned for mm.bot aslong as it doesnt tamper with the game (maphack, mods, etc) and all it does is script.

Thats all you can do for now, there is no telling what they will do with warden after the reset, they might improve it, or start locking down so its a fair start off.

But we do have the few people who are kind enough to test everything out, so just sit tight :]

saw this thread nd just had to say SOMETHING because the obvious differences are being completely avoided....

The downfall to stings is that it is ONLY a maphack and constantly revals every time you change an act.

The upside to mousepad, and what is most likely the reason it has reported bans, is that it doesn't just reveal the map, it finds every monster and even chests within a certain radius and reveals those on your map, and even lists immunites and champion monsters and whatnot.

But for the record, i used musepads for about 3-4 years on .08-.09 and never had a ban issue from that [d2jsp FTL ] and also used stings in .10 and .11 with no issue. then again ive also at one point used mousepads on .11b and didnt have the issue, untill blizzard caught me botting AGAIN! (thats 4cdkeys down the tube lol)

So although ill admit to never seeing a ban issue with mousepads, its obvious why it could be more detectable with its extra features.

And i find it really funny when morons say they got baned for stings with auto load on it makes me giggle.

You do know that this thread is 6 months old? And people have either used common sense by then to use the one thats the best and wont get them banned, or they have stopped playing altogether?

I haven't heard of anyone complaining about getting banned about it in a while, either that or newbs stopped posting as much. But I guess you're definitely a contradiction to that.

If farcast is implemented through a MOD it is safe. I use it in my "King_Yoshi's Color Mod", and non one has ever been banned for it, that I know of. However if you use a program to enable the game to farcast through packet injection, then I 100% agree with you that it is in that case detectable.
