Trouble installing Hero Editor........please help!

I have hero editor for D2 downloaded, but I can't get it to install..........the bootstrapper keeps freezing up. I'm running windows xp pro, I have all updates installed..............but I can't figure out why I can't get it to install. Can someone please help?

which one are you using and where did you download it from?

It just says hero editor v 1.03 I got it originally from d2sector, but got it from a bunch of locations, including ladderhallrealm.com thinking maybe I just got corrupted files, but the same thing happens with every download. I click for the install, it says copying files, and freezes. The uninstall log says that all the files are already up to date, but it won't install......... I need that version because it works with LoD v 1.12

I tried version 1.04 too with the same result

which one are you using and where did you download it from?

try to install it in win 95 mode - I just tried it on vista and it said had 2 newer files and I said yes and it seem to work
If using WinXP, it might also help to right-click on Hero Editor.exe, select Properties, and in the Compatibility tab, select Windows 95 mode.

Nope............the bootstrapper just stops responding..............I don't understand what the problem is, and it's driving me crazy lol I have to run the bootstrapper to install the hero editor...........but the bootstrapper freezes up EVERY time.......even when i set it to run in compatible mode for win 95

I even tried it with system works shut down, and internet security disabled, and STILL have the problem
