You can blame the inactivity on blizzard for taking their sweet ass time in releasing Diablo III.

well, Star craft II did not result in any significant increase in activity. i feel that diablo 3 will be the same.

Well, you have to understand that this site was, and still is, predominantly a Diablo-themed site. Luke added the other games (along with changing the name) to broaden our horizon. Still, I'm assuming most traffic is D2-related, and there are probably more Diablo gamers here than the other Blizzard games.

I can't say for sure that D3 will fully revitalize the site, but it should hopefully be a bigger jump heading into D3 than it was with SC2.

We'll you can't really say the site is 'dead' as there is almost always a few hundred people viewing it at any time. Its just there is only a small handful of them (like 8-9) that actually post and are actively involved.
