I see that people sometimes ask for a hybrid assasin guide and there arent really any in this forum so i decided to write one.
HYBRID ASSASIN
Whirlwind/Trap Assasin

In 1.10 the runeword 'Chaos' shined with the capability to allow assasins to utilize the whirlwind skill. After much testing from
different players they have found a new build (whirlwind assasin) and decided to use traps to back up her flaws. Thus the
hybrid assasin was created.

Hybrid Assasins are by far one of the best characters for pvp. Many people see her as a anti-Windy char. She utilizes the skill of whirlwind provided by the runeword 'Chaos'and uses traps as her secondary skill

Pros
capable of defeating almost every character in pvp if played right
decent balance of trap and whirlwind
capable of rushing because of lightning and physical combination

Cons
Absorbing or high DR will destroy half of the build

~~~Gear~~~

Helm:

Assasin Circlet- Basicly i like this helm cause it gives you +skill to both shadow and trap skill tree which helps both way.
You should also look for the 2 socket ones with +mods.

Alternatives:
Crown of Age- Good DR if you need them. You can use this when you need to duel barbs, but i advise you to stay away from
this as the str is too much. Might as well use shako.


Guilammes- always a good option cause it got good mods. socket it with a -req% jewel since it has high str cost


Armor:
Enigma- (Mage Plate, Breast Plate, Light Plate etc.. blah blah w/e just keep it light) Keep it low so you'll have more pts to spend on vitality

Alternatives:
Chains of Honor- If you use this you MUST!! get dragon flight from your chaos claws. Other then that this armor gives +str resist and other yummy stuff just no teleport.

Weapon:
Chaos- A must since you are a hybrid. Try to find one like mines with +3 Light Sentry +2 DragonFlight. It helps alot since you wont have to waste a single skill point down the martial arts skill tree. Also try to find a fast attacking claws. The big requirement claws wont help you. NO ALTERNATIVES YOU ARE A WHIRLWIND/TRAPPER!!

Secondary Claw:
Fools Claw of Quickness- This claw is an excellent Rare claw that almost outmatches most claws in damage. Provided that some come with 2 sockets you can put 2 'Um' runes on it to make it even more deadly. Try to get one of these if not theres other Options

Alternatives:
Chaos- Another one wont hurt. Remember +lightsentry,mindblast,etc.. is important.

Weapons on switch:
Call To Arm- Aim for a +5 or +6 as it will help your life alot.
Spirit/Lidless/Splendor-Back your Cta up.

Gloves:
Trang Oul Gloves- Necessary for the boost in your venom damage. No alternatives. The 30% cold resist can be helpful.

Belt:
Arachnid Sash- This is the perfect belt for you as it will help you catch those runners. The mana is helpful for maybe those mindblast spams and whirlwind but you wont have to worry about that when your done with the build. +skill is always helpful.

Alternatives:
Verdungos- This belt is your second option if you need to fight people like BARBS!! Life and DR is helpful.


Boots:
Eth Sandstorm Treks- A pair of these can come handy with the +vit and +str. Its one of the all round best boots.

Alternatives:
Goreriders - Excellent for all the helpful mods like open wound

Shadow Dancers- If you don't like Treks then you can go with these for the damage. WIth these you'll get a slight boost in your shadow discipline tree.

Imp Shanks- If your rich you can go for these as the str/resist/fhr/frw is helpful in many situations.

Amulet:
Crafted/Rare Assasin Amulet- The +skill/fcr/+mods are very helpful. Try to get one with +life and +str as it will help your stats and allow you to live longer. Of course the +skill and fcr is yummy too.

Alternatives:
Maras Kaleidoscope- Excellent amulet as it gives +skill and resist. Only thing it needs is +life and fcr but you won't need to depend on those too much

+Trap/+Shadow Amulet- Any one would do fine as both ways they will lead to helping one of your damage. I suggest going for traps as the skill points for traps will be low.

Ring 1:
Ravenfrost- Excellent Dex, AR for Whirlwind, Cannot be frozen for those cold sorcs or that wind druids hurricane (just in case he gets too close)

Ring 2:
Leach or fcr ring- Either one will do as leach will help your whirlwind and fcr will help your mindblast casting. Aim for one with +str and resist.

Charms:
Assasin Torch- Try to get one with high +stats
Annilihus- Same as Torch
9x Trap Skillers with Life- Very important as your trap damage must be boosted some how. If you want you can take a few (not all) out for some shadow gcs with life of course.
Fill the rest of your inventory with +life or resist small charms.

Stash
+3 Shadow Discipline Circlet
+3 Shadow Discipline Amulet
2x Claws with +Venom or Shadow Discipline
Demon Limb
2x Soj or Bk Ring
Bramble

These are used to prebuff for venom if you need to

Dwarf Star - Fire Absorb (if you have to)
Wisp Projector - Light Absorb (if you have to)
extra Raven Frost - Cold Absorb (if you have to)
Angelic Rings/Amulet - If you wanna use vs barbs or any melee

Ideal Gear Setup
Helm: 3/20/20 Circlet or CoA up to you.
Armor: Enigma
Weapon 1: Chaos claw with +df
Weapon 2: Fools Claw of Quickness
Weapon/Switch: Cta/Spirit
Gloves:Trang
Amulet: Crafted +skill fcr Ammy
Belt: Arachnid Sash
Ring 1: Raven Frost
Ring 2: Rare Leech Ring with good +mods
Boots: Treks/Imp Shanks/Wraith Brands/Shadow Dancers
Inventory: Assasin Torch 20/20,Annihilus,9x Trap Skillers

~~~Skills~~~

Shadow Discipline
20 - Claw Mastery - This will boost the damage for Whirlwind
Rest - Venom - Helpful Damage Boost
Weapon Block - Rest
1 - Fade - This can kinda help when you duel vs ww barbs since your venom wont hurt him much.
1 - Shadow Warrior - Important cause the extra mind blasts can help you.
1 - Clock of Shadow - You'll need this when you face people with high defence like paladins and barbs.
1 - Burst of Speed - Helps if you need to run to catch other people but you'll have dragonflight or teleport.
1 - Mind Blast - You can put 1 here or you can go find yourself a claw with mindblast and make a chaos out of it.

Trap
20 - Light Sentry - Your other main attack
20 - Death Sentry - Synergy
20- Shock Web - Synergy
1- Charge Bolt Sentry - Synergy

Martial Arts
Please Please I'm begging you to find a claw with +skill to dragon flight your gonna thank me later for that

~~~Duels~~~

Amazons:

Bowzons - You'll probably be either dueling against a glasscannon or a less damage but more life bowzon. But either one will be easy for you. Just teleport around her so you wont get hit by guided and get right on top of her and whirlwind her. You won't really need light sentry as this will only give her the opportunity to run. But if you feel like you need to namelock her with mind blast and lay some traps around her.

Javazons - Real nasty if you have to get close to her. Put on a little resist gear for this match since she can almost kill you in 2-3 hits maybe even 1. Okay so for here shes the one that comes to you. Unless she throws Lightning Fury and runs which is a whole different story. But while shes running toward you, set some traps throw a cloak of shadow whirlwind till open wounds is triggered tele away and spam mb at her. She won't live too long after that.

Farcast Javazons - You don't stand a chance unless she's a glasscannon. If your lucky, you can get in there fast namelock spam mindblast lay couple of traps around her and repeat what you do to regular javazons. But if she sees you from afar your dead.

Paladins:
FoHers - Extremely hard duel since the good ones tend to charge away shoot foh and repeat. The key to this duel is speed over power as you need to be quick to catch him. The only option is to namelock him with mind blast lay traps tele on top of him and whirlwind.

Hammerdins - Kinda easy duel if you know what your doing. Most people will try to play defensive cause of your traps. For these guys let your traps do everything since when you get close to a hammer field you can't do much. Cast cloak of shadows then set traps near him and he might actually come to you. Others will just tele right in the middle which you can easily counter. When he teles on top of you make a short whirlwind away as he will most likely be trying to cast hammer. After you whirlwind spam a few mindblast recast some traps if you have to. give him maybe 1 or 2 whirlwind to end it.

Smiters - One of the easy duels as you do quite well with most melees. The only thing you need to worry about is charge IF he does alot of damage with that. if he likes to tease you and charges around to find an open area, feel free to stop him with mind blast, lay traps spam some more mind blast, get close to him and do a triangle whirlwind only since if you go through him he'll cast life tap. He should be dead in no time due to your high %OW(Open Wound). Notice that he can out tank you.

Zealer - Duel these as you would have dueled vs a smiter.

FoH/Smiter - Pain in the butt cause these guys will most likely charge around and shoot a FoH at you. Just don't let him get close to you and duel him just like a smiter.
Auradin - Haha these guys will run from you i mean it. whether it be foh or charge he'll always run from you. Namelock him with mindblast lay some traps and whirlwind him to death. Notice these guys arent great tankers. Don't prolong this duel since his auras will waste you if you let him evade you. Dragonflight him if you need to get to him quickly.

Necromancers:

Summon Necs - I hate waiting for these guys to get their army set up haha. Well this guy will most likely put a curse on you and tele on top of you. Cast cloak of shadows, lay traps, mindblast, whirlwind and its over. The open wound should take care of him.

Bone Necs - These guys are really simple since the most dangerous thing that he can do to you is cast a few bone spirits. You don't really need to use traps unless you really have to. Run or tele around and when he stops to cast bonespirit/bonespears, whirlwind once back and forth and stay away. The open wound will most likely kill him and you can maybe cast a few traps or repeat the going up close.

Poison Necs (Bramble) - The all damage poison necs but they won't be able to get close to you cause your traps will kill him. Actually you don't even need traps, tele on top of him and whirlwind him to death.

Barbarians:

Warcry Barb - These guys have tons of life because their a...... warcry barb. His damage is really weak but if he manages to lock you with his warcry stuns then it might be painful. But that won't happen much since he will just tele around find a good open spot and spam warcry. If he does get in whirlwind him to death since your whirlwind will kill him faster then he kills you. Cloak, NL Mindblast, and lay traps around him if you have to.

BvC - Lots of damage and life. You do not wanna go vs whirlwind barbs cause they can out tank you, damage you, and have way more life. Cast fade instead of venom for the extra dr. Cast cloak of shadows cause you'll be needing it, namelock him with mindblast (you have to..) lay traps, whirlwind till openwounds kick in, and keep spamming. Pray that he dies quick.

BvB - Even worse cause he got max blocks. The only good thing is less damage haha. This guy can out tank you big time, so that means he nullified half of your build. Just duel him like a BvC its just less life, less damage but way more DR has blocks and good defence.

Druids:

Wind Druid - This char is called the anti-wind druid for a reason. Your whirlwind will mess him up and lightning sentry will keep him at a distance. Both ways you get what you want. Just don't let tornado hit you as it does massive damage. Cloak, lay traps around him, spam mindblast if you want unless he runs (optional), and whirlwind him. He won't be able to tank your whirlwind unless he has ss but if he does have max black then that means less life.

Armageddon Druid - I really don't know cause the ones i saw just stays in town, run out and cast fissure and run back in so i just ignore them. But the fissure is lethal don't get caught in it.

Fireclaw Druid - Don't let him slap you with your claw, it hurts. Good thing he can't move around fast like you can go ahead and tease him. Throw traps around him, cloak, and whirlwind. If you can't finish him after that Open wounds will.

Other Shapeshift Druid - Namelock Mindblast cause mostly wolf form and they run alot. Lay traps cloak whirlwind and its over pretty fast.

Sorceress:

Fireball Sorc - Painful as maybe 1-2 hits will kill you. In this duel you'll need to dodge alot. She might lure you with hydra but you can lure him with traps (almost the same hehe) anyways. Move around and when she stops to spam firebolt/fireball, namelock with mindblast lay traps around her and whirlwind. Remember to avoid those deadly bolts/balls.

Lightning Sorc - Don't you hate the ones with infinity+ts and all they do is tele around you and let thunderstorm hit you. heh thats where namelock and mindblast comes in cause once you combine that with traps she won't last long. Same goes for ones without infinity since they won't have that dam conviction on.

Blizz Sorc - Really slow but damage is deadly. She'll most likely blizz herself tele around look for you and try to blizz you and tele away. Move around avoiding blizz and when she stops and blizz herself use mindblast knock her out of it dragonflight or tele and ww her to death. Combine with a few traps if you want to.
Orb Sorc - Dodge those shards thats all you have to do. Kinda hard to see with all the shards flying everywhere but your traps will tell her that shes not getting close any time soon.spam mindblast if have to or if the match is taking too long.

ES Fire/Light/Cold - Same as the regular ones but able to tank more whirlwinds.

Assasins:

Kicker - Don't need to lay traps just whirlwind and its done.

Whirlwind Assasin - Weaker BvC. They usually have fade on which can sometimes be a pain since DR helps vs whirlwind and resist helps vs your traps. Well you can do that too but you'll have a slight advantage over her since you have a slight higher open wound and traps to help you. Fight them as if they were a weaker BvC.

Trapper - I got confused once cause i couldn't tell which traps were mines haha. Anyways don't do what i did, lay some traps and never stay in one place that goes for all duels, at least move a around a little unless you mindblast. If you happen to get that nasty trapper in a namelock keep spamming and tele on top of her and whirlwind her to death. Notice she doesnt have max block or should never have maxblocks.

Other
Pvm - Hybrid sins can do pvm quickly but not as quickly as a hammerdin and must require a mercenary

Act 2 Mercenary
Weapon:
Infinity or Pride - This is basicly up to you infinity helps traps while pride helps your whirlwind.

Armor:
Fortitude or CoH

Helm:
Giant Skull

Conclusion:
Thanks for reading and please any problems or anything that needs to be fixed would be greatly appreciated. My strategy for dueling is my own opinion so if you disagree thats fine but thats how i would have dueled them. Anyways once again thanks for reading.

Imp shanks are nice but Wraith Brands are better, but much much more expensive especially perm ones.

Nice guide, I'll sticky it, however, there are a few things:
1) Trang's give +30 cr
2) Listing all of this budget gear (Peasant Crown, Shako) is pointless. This goes for your sorc guide as well. PvP is for the ultra-wealthy. If you are going for budget stuff, you shouldn't be doing PvP. I think that both of your guides would be a lot stronger, if you included a few rigid setups, with best possible gear choices, hitting all of the necessary breakpoints, etc.

One thing about the Poison nec (bramble)

Bramble will most likely have THORNS AURA aka. Melee damage will be going right back at you.. I'd do that with traps

actually since you have high open wounds you'll kill him really fast so i don't really care what a poison nec wears enigma bramble he's dead both ways. And most of your whirlwind damage will probably be the psn damage from venom. All you need is venom/open wound/traps.

Oh and updated a few stuff ideal gear, added low budget gear removed, and breakpoints added

On ur WW assassin build, i see that u listed Enigma for the armor, and trangs for the gloves. Ur right trangs are the only gloves for this build, but for armor i suggest Ap Bramble. For one, if u get a high def one like 903 u will still have decent defense overall. The 50% Fhr is AMAZING!!! and of course the 50% poison skill dmg boosts ur WW dmg ALOT. Gives mana and mana regeneration. I think its better then enigma for duels. Use enigma though for Weapon switch/cta

Bramble is overrated. Sure, it's good for owning noob BvCs, but any real dueler will destroy you if you dont have an Enigma.

tele+ww is way faster then dragonflight+ww try it you'll kill much faster and dont even think of walking up to someone and ww

You need +3 venom on the claws.
You only need one item that adds 10 fcr after trangs, arach, and circlet, which are a must vs every character, you hit 80 which is pointless.

I thought you were a hybrid, fury hurts you? Cast traps, game's over.

You under estimate mindblast, it's a leap that does damage.
Over all, don't play a hybrid, you don't use the traps well, and the wake of fire on a ghost would be better than your lightning sentry. Invest some into claw block. Infact, instead of going on, just look at this guide.

claw block is awesome get to 60 block if possible with gear clawblock blocks almost every attack ex fireball lightning etc

im not sure if i can ask this here, but i didnot want to make a new thred as it seem poitless, but if i was im very sry and let me knw for next tmie... ok no on to my question......

okso the sin seems fun and i know a little bit a bout them thanks to arret summont but i have never used one so......i would like to make a pure trap sin pvp build and when i was reaidn ur guid i saw that u have ias for layin traps..well is this jsut for traps or will ur fcr help to???? and as for mb is the speed u cast that ias or fcr? i was thinking fcr for both of them but as i see i was wrong about the traps.......alos i was readin a lot of the older post on sins or traps sins and i found one { not sure which now but im sure i can find it again fi needed} but in that post { it was some ones guid the no one liked } frater said that duel claws r better then hoto+sprit any day..so what 2 claws should i use????should chaos still be one even thow i dont want ww+trap sin? if so what shoudl the other claw be?.....ur guide sounds very power for pvp and i love that but ti seems a little to hard to use for me atm since i never have used a sin yet but is a ww+trap a lot better then jsut a 100% trap with duel claws?????oh also in the same post that frater said duel claws r best..some one calld ares said that fi u go duel claws u might as well go ww+traps but wouldent that hurt ur trap dmg a lot even with 9+40 lifer gc's???..........ny ways what ias wouild i need for my laying trap to be at and what ias or fcr { not sure what is used for this as i sadi soem where up there } for mb?....1 more question if u use duel claws do u need ot max it or is jsut a few ok and i know u dont need dex to get mroe block form duel claws so jsut enought dex for ur gear liek srt???please help if u can ny one .... but it if seems that im to lost or unhelpable with this just let me know and ill forget it...this jsut looks like a fun char to use so ya fi u can help please do....

nlm98 - Ok, what you need is called +3 to trap claws which would be +3 to traps and maybe +1-2 to lite sentry. (Correct me if i am wronf somone). For the ias use BoS and look at the breakpoints in here > http://www.blizzsector.co/assassin-chara...uides.html Which is a guide to speeds etc by Frogman. Strength - enough for gear. Dex - enough for gear. You can use the blocking skill in shadow disciplines. Hope that covers everything and good luck. Btw a very, very good guide. -TD
