Why have a flaming forum... won't it just lead to flames outside of the forum??

So on and so forth... I know that blizzhackers tried a flaming forum and it was shut down for this exact reason.

hmm,, seems clear enough to me,, what he's saying is that the flaming might start to spread from the infected flaming forum witch might result in mass spreading thru out the site turning friend against friend, water in to fire etc...

My entire existance runs throught our flame wars. Some of them are classic, they are fun...yes feelings get hurt, but if you read at the bottom it explains that if you are sensitive then you should stay the hell out of the flames forum. I for one have lots of fun in there and even our mods and admins have pokes of fun in there too. If they didn't, you woulda seen it go a long time ago. In short, flame wars can be very very entertaining at times...

There are a few mayor flaws to that,,
first anyone can access the forum witch means threads will show up if your viewing latest posts etc, if you se your name in a flame thread you will naturally read the thread sense it is public.. A bigger problem is that search engines might index threads in flaming forum, this could lead to legal problems for the site, after all public slander is illegal.
Bottom line that little disclaimer in the forum description will have wary little legal bearing.

Lol, you try talking about legality? An internet forum site, dedicated to Diablo II and just other forms of amusement. BOTTOM LINE IS: IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE FLAME WARS, STAY OUT. We don't need you guys b!tching about it...

Perhaps the idea isn't a good one, just remembered a site that was shutdown for similar issues, there are always people with grudges that will take every chance they get to harm a site.. that + Vivendi lawyers recent war path against private realms has fed my already paranoid mind

Anyone that stupid to get authorites watching this site would be noticed long before and banned. Our flame wars are for fun, we do nothing dangerous. We don't conspire against America, or preach the benefits of a bloody communist revolt, or organize clans in favor of lynch mobs. So I think this site and its Flame wars section are good for now
