cuz after all, in real life at the lunch table at school, all the topics of conversation revolves around how leet i am and my 407 percent ethreal botd berserker axe, nevermind the hot chicks at the table over. *roll eye emoticon* you guys should consider your social status, and mabye try and change it.. nothing wrong with being a net nerd, but christ? saying SOJ or LOL outloud?

This thread is making me sick...
I usually don't even use abreviations.
02-09-2005, 08:10 AM
sodge ... game ... set... match...
02-09-2005, 08:13 AM
s.o.j , its a abreviation like s.o.s, u dont say s.o.s as in one whole word and make a word that sounds like sauce...
02-09-2005, 08:14 AM
ive called it a sodge ever since 1.07 and all my friends (in real life) that started in 1.10 call it S-O-J .... hmmmm maybe im just old school
02-09-2005, 08:18 AM
ive been playing since 1.07 too but i call it s.o.j
02-09-2005, 09:29 AM
I only use "lol" in a real life conversation when I'm joking. Like someone will say a retarded joke and every once in a great while I'll say, "Lol!!!! Great joke so and so!!! ROFFLES!!!" =\

Don't start in the whole nerd, social status thing, it's been played before and it's old. If you want to call people nerds, do it elsewhere, because calling a person a nerd for using an internet gaming forum, sounds a bit hypocritical. Don't you think? Do you think at all?

only when someone gets offended do they stick up for their beliefs but anyways.... i think this is where the "learn it before you use it" comes in :
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=nerd nerd also nurd ** (*P*)**Pronunciation Key**(nûrd) n. Slang 1. A foolish, inept, or unattractive person. 2. A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept. [Perhaps after Nerd, a character in If I Ran the Zoo, by Theodor Seuss Geisel.] ------------------------------------------------------------------------ nerdy adj. Word History: The word nerd, undefined but illustrated, first appeared in 1950 in Dr. Seuss's If I Ran the Zoo: “And then, just to show them, I'll sail to Ka-Troo And Bring Back an It-Kutch a Preep and a Proo A Nerkle a Nerd and a Seersucker, too!” (The nerd is a small humanoid creature looking comically angry, like a thin, cross Chester A. Arthur.) Nerd next appears, with a gloss, in the February 10, 1957, issue of the Glasgow, Scotland, Sunday Mail in a regular column entitled “ABC for SQUARES”: “Nerda square, any explanation needed?” Many of the terms defined in this “ABC” are unmistakable Americanisms, such as hep, ick, and jazzy, as is the gloss “square,” the current meaning of nerd. The third appearance of nerd in print is back in the United States in 1970 in Current Slang: “Nurd [sic], someone with objectionable habits or traits.... An uninteresting person, a ‘dud.’” Authorities disagree on whether the two nerdsDr. Seuss's small creature and the teenage slang term in the Glasgow Sunday Mailare the same word. Some experts claim there is no semantic connection and the identity of the words is fortuitous. Others maintain that Dr. Seuss is the true originator of nerd and that the word nerd (“comically unpleasant creature”) was picked up by the five- and six-year-olds of 1950 and passed on to their older siblings, who by 1957, as teenagers, had restricted and specified the meaning to the most comically obnoxious creature of their own class, a “square.”

wtf is that all about

the nerd thing is ridiculous, considering im anything but a nerd, i just think this site is kidna cool and useful for when i play D2, i also know someone from this site whos this huge 6'4" 300 pound football lineman? how can u call him a nerd? you need to think before you speak bud considering im definately not a nerd and i find it offensive when u make a general statement like that. I play football run track and play a ton of other sports. Ive got plenty of friends and have had a few girlfriends too. So again,. think before u speak

This would be helpful if he had not used it in the manner of which you are describing. Shut the **** up.
02-09-2005, 12:22 PM
hm... I don't like the first definition... 2nd one's okay though. I'm a nerd and I'm proud of it, what's wrong with being a nerd? But I am socially involved though, got a lot of friends, boys/girls. Am I unattractive? I'm AZN so difference in attractiveness to white people/black people. I would say I'm above average for azn.
02-09-2005, 12:29 PM
S.o.j for me, sodges just sounds wrong to me. My friend uses sodge and I absolutely can't stand it, but I don't try to change the way he calls it

Don't you think? no, i have never used any inebriants in my whole life. we can overlook the fact i'm in therapy and outpatient rehab for chemical intake/abuse. if you get stoned and act a fool and let a 'lawl' or 'roffles,' slip now and then, that's fine. if you run around saying lawl like you have the plague, that's another.. ya, i'm sorry, i just find it a bit strange that people ask how to pronounce an abbreviation from a videogame for use in real life. ya, i find it very strange. no, i guess i don't think. yes, and by posting that i meant to offend every d2-playing nerd on this website. nevermind I was just stating my opinion, i was out to **** all of you off
