I'm making a zealot.........

But' I'm not sure if it's templar or normal........or maybe a mix.......Ionno

I need tips on items to use and the pro's and con's of them.........:wacky:

ok ill start

coa helm: cham 40/15: reaches last ias breakpoint and does cannot be frozen
coa helm: cham ber: more dr so u can take more hits

armor: fort: insane dmg and defense added, however, its base def isnt very high
armor: eth templar: the best nl armor
armor: eth glitched chamed valor: very nice armor since it has cannot be frozen u can use ber ber coa.
armor eth glitched bane: very nice, also has cannot be frozen too so u can add a ber or something.
armor coh: the poor armor, only use coh for baal runs

weapon: eth death berserker: very nice weapon for ladder but slower then ebotd zerker
weapon ebotd zerker: very fast and has nice dmg too, doesnt have many special attributes though.
weapon eth death cleaver: umm..... its got some speed and deadly strike, otherwise not very good.

gloves: rends: excellent zealot gloves nice crushing blow and %ed too
gloves dracs: nice for open wounds and lifetap, combine them with phoenix for a nice touch.

shields: exile: a defensive shield, adds high def but lacks other stats like massive ed.
shields phoenix: adds massive dmg and redemption (for annoying those gay summoners), doesnt give much defense though

thats about it for my debates.... the rest of the gear. angelic ammy, ring ring, verd belt, uped or non uped gores, is up to you.

So you know, your either Templar or your not. Templar is very Restrictive like you cant use life tap or extra auras (Rules out Dracs Phoenix and Exile) And also Silver, My zealer has used an eth Death Zerk for awhile make sure you have like 20 ias gloves.

templar:
cham 40/15 coa or cham ber coa or cham guihams
eth zod hoz or ber hoz
eth treks or gores
rends or dracs

zealot: any option is fine

guihams has: crushing blow and faster hit recovery, if you plan on using guihams, i suggest using rends+gores so u can get quite a bit of crushing blow. (35)+(10)+(15)= 60% crushing blow using gores rends and guihams. with 30% deadly strike from gores+guihams. as a shield its your choice to use eth zoded hoz or ber hoz. id up either hoz since u need all the defense u can get.


ok i didnt think open wounds was banned but if it is then w/e anyway im saying phoenix is good for pvm if your in a baal game and some gay summoner is causing you to lag. i heard that the highest def zealot with lifetap will usually kill the other one so i figured eth zoded t-might would be useful. thats about it for comments

i better correct u guys before u get used to calling it a "templar". templars = fohers. temple zealots are simply called temple zealots. don't try to shorten it or it'll cause more confusion.


i have a few comments on the items Silver Ice listed. comments are in parentheses ().

armor: eth templar: the best nl armor (far from the best. could be considered one of the worst choices out of the more popular armors.)
armor: eth glitched chamed valor: very nice armor since it has cannot be frozen u can use ber ber coa. (Temple banned glitched items, btw. and u don't need glitched items to win. glitched items cost more anyway, so there's a good reason to stay legit. but yes, performance-wise, glitched items are undoubtedly better.)
armor eth glitched bane: very nice, also has cannot be frozen too so u can add a ber or something. (same as above. i actually like this more than eth valor due to CBF and much lower str req.)
armor coh: the poor armor, only use coh for baal runs (agreed. the def is simply terrible.)

weapon: eth death berserker: very nice weapon for ladder but slower then ebotd zerker
weapon ebotd zerker: very fast and has nice dmg too, doesnt have many special attributes though.
weapon eth death cleaver: umm..... its got some speed and deadly strike, otherwise not very good. (tests and calculations have shown eDC to have a higher avg final dmg than eBotDZ)

gloves: rends: excellent zealot gloves nice crushing blow and %ed too
gloves dracs: nice for open wounds and lifetap, combine them with phoenix for a nice touch. (5% ctc life tap. good luck with that. the OW and str bonus are nice though. too bad Temple banned it)

shields: exile: a defensive shield, adds high def but lacks other stats like massive ed. (i'm not gonna completely rule out exile as a viable shield option, since the def bonus could let u get away with lower def gear. again, banned by Temple.)
shields phoenix: adds massive dmg and redemption (for annoying those gay summoners), doesnt give much defense though (the ultimate glass-cannon shield IMO.)


another note: phoenix's redemption aura doesn't affect pvp (unless for some strange reason u're dueling in a field of monster corpses), so it would *very likely* be legal in Temple. Temple has always been only on NL, so it's hard to determine which ladder runewords will be banned until ladder resets.


btw, i'm editting this as i go along. might wanna refresh every few minutes lol.


ok, here are a few items i'd add to the list... (only listing NL items, as Hurly91 requested.)


- eth zodded razor's edge (the eDC's little brother. not quite as deadly, but is an excellent bleeder weapon. not to be underestimated.)

- eth steel carapace (i dislike it for the same reasons i dislike eth templar's might, but due to its popularity, i'll list it anyway. high str for high def...that's all it really is.)

- stone (60% fhr, +16 dual stats, high def. low str req if u make it in a light armor. one of the best IMO.)

- upgraded shaftstop (these are now on NL since last ladder season ended. decent def, 30% DR, and a bit of life. might be one of the best choices if u decide to go with exile, since it's a quick way to get DR and u don't need especially high def anyway.)

- stormshield (quick way to get DR, and has decent def and high blocking. my personal favorite since it allows the most flexibility.)

- alma negra (great AR and dmg bonus, high blocking. i find it odd that some ppl actually laugh at it.)

- shako (low def, but the +skills, DR, and huge life bonus could make up for it.)

- visionary helm of ___ (gives 1% AR per clvl. i've seen a lot of these around lately, mostly with BerBer or 2x 40/15.)

- hsarus' belt + boots (gives +10 AR per clvl. u get lower def, but the AR boost more than makes up for it. the only concern is the mods on gore rider that u're giving up.)


this is a rather long post. maybe i should just get my friend to come here and post his guide. i'm getting tired.

My two angel rings and ammy give me about 2.5k when you add in the +10dex and then the +ar per clvl. Then add in the fanta and zeal bonus and with a modded dex of 150 I have a 10k ar and a 95% chance to hit in a5 nm and 75% chance to block.

my ar is 18k atm. i would never use skill gcs on a zealot btw. they are less efficient than dmg/ar charms.

leech does almost nothing in pvp, so CoA beats vampgaze.

1k def is far too low for an armor. with the +30 stats from ebotd u should be able to wear heavier armors anyway. i personally think of 1.5k def to be the bottom line for armors. i recommend upgraded shaftstop or leviathan if u need DR.

here's a list of what i consider to be viable pvp zealot armors (only the ones accessible on NL are listed):
- stone (def, +vit, +str, fhr*)
- upped shaftstop (dr*, +life)
- leviathan (dr*, +str*)
- eth gladiator's bane (def, cbf*, fhr*, psn length reduction)
- eth arkaine's valor (def, fhr*, +skills, +vit*)
- duress (enhanced dmg, cb*, ow*, fhr*)

these are what i consider to be secondary choices:
- eth templar's might (def*, +str, +vit, fhr, +offensive auras)
- eth steel carapace (def*, fhr)
- eth prudence (def, fhr)
- enigma (dr, +skills, +str*, +life)

yes NL does have levi. ladder season 1 reset a long time ago.

i assumed he wanted his helm to have DR, that's why i suggested CoA over vgaze. i myself prefer to use cham gface.
