Because the term goth people go around floating these days is those **** who listen to emo music.
The ones that I would gladly kill.
And yes it is a sin to like metallica. They stole from the best band ever (Death).
Its amazing how many asshats ive seen on this forum in under a day.

It's also amazing how many self-proclaimed goths I can see in a day.
Metallica stole from Death? How?
The term goth is just a label, like I said. Only 12 year olds use it. If you're not 12.... ahaha. Loser.

lol wow you sound like me when I was 16 and just joined this site.
Anyways. Death wrote the entire riff to enter the sandman for another song and it was copied exactly by Metallica. Then Metallica claims that napster steals music?

Yeah, I'm 16. Oh noes!!! Maybe you should have stayed gone when you left this site, because all you have to do is flame someone who listens to Pantera AND Metallica. (Oh Noes!!! again!)
Sorry to tell you, but Enter Sandman is the easiest riff in the world to write. I could have done it. And I'm sure Death would have done something about it if they had really stolen it.
Besides, it doesn't matter anyway. It's becoming harder and harder to be more original with your music, because almost everything has been done. No, I don't like Metallica lvery much anymore either, because of the Napster closing and when they sued a perfume company for calling a scent "Metallica". But what you have to realize is that they were the Pioneers of metal for 25 years. They carried us from 1982 all the way to 2005. (I hopped off the bus at 1990, because the black album was shit)
Do me a favor and listen to Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets and And Justice for All, and tell me Metallica had no originality. Those were 4 of the most influential albums in history, and I bet even Chuck Schulinder would have said the same.

Music has been around for....Oh, let's just go with about 7,000 plus years for the sake of argument.
And in all these years we have never ran out of music, so why would we just now be running out? We aren't, we just have a world of unoriginals that can't reinvent anything for a damn.

I would but just the fact even those riffs were stolen leads me not to.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Lars Ulrich was there when they sued napster.
It isnt hard to become original at all. You use different distortions and create ways to sound good. Simple as that.
Sorry to tell you, but Enter Sandman is the easiest riff in the world to write. I could have done it. And I'm sure Death would have done something about it if they had really stolen it.
Yeah and you wish it was it would make you feel better about Metallica wouldnt it?
Death was the original Metallica pretty much. Except for one thing... DEATH SOUNDED GOOD.

Maybe you should stop relying on your age? Im over that shit anyways. Yeah I couldve but just the sheer fact that asshats like you still lurk here amuses me.
Yes that is all I have to do. riiiiight. I have better things to do I just choose not to.
Ill leave you with this question... Do you like the mainstream bullshit fed by Metallica?
Oh noes.

As a guitarist, I know how hard it is to make music. I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm unoriginal, but inventing a riff is hard to do, because if you hit two notes that sound similar to another song, you get flamed to hell for it.

Sound the alarm, Captain Bias is on the loose!
I don't give a flying shit if you want to support Death on this. Yes, they are a good band, I won't deny it - But you have to get your biased bullshit opinions out of your head and start reading.
And yes, I do like this "Mainstream Bullshit". Metallica is good music, even though they have been complete shit since 1990. I saw them live last year, and they kicked ***. Sure, they're sellouts, but look at all the music they made in the 80's (Yes, they MADE it)
Anyway, back on topic. If I see you going offtopic again, I'll ban you and blah blah blah.

The idea to flame wars is to post stuff that people would fight alot about, not to single anyone out like Wolfman did. I won't ban you if you follow the rules.

Ok ive gone through this guys other links. Hes actually pretty smart but is a complete moron on the gothic culture. Yes it is a culture now. Its a bunch of lets say metalheads. Who are called satanists because their idols write satanistic lyrics.
But this is more important. Gothic actually was a form of building design in the past. Which led to a lot of problems with people creating the myth of vampires

Yes there was/is such a thing as Gothic architecture but the myth of vampires and other such demons began LONG before people were building in the Gothic style. But thats not the point of this thread. Is it? What this thread has boiled down to is this: What is the aboslute definition of a "goth"?
Culture? Well lets look at the definition before we go so far as that.
dictionary Wrote:cul·ture ( P ) Pronunciation Key (k l ch r)
n.
-
The totality of socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought.
These patterns, traits, and products considered as the expression of a particular period, class, community, or population: Edwardian culture; Japanese culture; the culture of poverty.
- These patterns, traits, and products considered with respect to a particular category, such as a field, subject, or mode of expression: religious culture in the Middle Ages; musical culture; oral culture.
- The predominating attitudes and behavior that characterize the functioning of a group or organization.
Your definition of the goth culture:
Lycshiftz Wrote:Its a bunch of lets say metalheads. Who are called satanists because their idols write satanistic lyrics.
Hmm...now what portions of the definition of culture did you fullfill...arts?I really can not seem to pull anything else out of there.
Okay. So we've defined the type of arts that "goths" enjoy but we still lack: behavior patterns, traits and products. So at best we can call them a focused interest group but to give them the grand title of being a culture goes to far.
"One murder makes a villain, millions a hero. "

Wow what a smart ***. If youre going to try to critique me on my words. Maybe you should figure out what half of the words in the definition of culture mean. Culture now is known as some bullshit fashion. Maybe you should watch the news every once in a while.
But anyways the site is hillarious. After reading some of the stuff he came up with.
