The Cube series.
#1
Hello, Priest here again.

Just thought I'd tell everyone about a few great movies they may or may not be aware of.

"Cube"

The movie "Cube" takes place entirely in..well A cube, many cubes to be exact.
Imagine a giant cube, a door on each surface (1 per wall +roof/floor) that connects to
another giant cube, And so on.
Each cube connects to another cube, A group of people awake in these cubes and find themselves trapped looking for a way out, little do they realize something more sinister is at hand when they begin to fall victim to elaborate traps. (Note: Gore!)

"Cube2:HyperCube"

Cube2:Hypercube takes the Cube idea to the next level, it will destroy any idea of logic you have as it deals with the mind killing subject of Quantum Physics. As in the first one people awake to find themselves in cubes. Only these cubes seem to be more modern, more sanitary in appearance.Your mind is going to be twisted as you witness people opening a door only to watch themselves die five minutes in the future.Or can you imagine someone being killed only to reappear as a version of themselves from an hour ago?
This movie deals heavily with quantum physics and mathematics.

"Cube:Zero"

The prequel to the Cube series, this movie takes us inside and outside of the first Cube(The first one built, not the first movie), This movie answers alot of the questions we were asking when we saw the first Cube. You get an idea of why the people are in the Cubes, what got them there and a possible way out. Although not as suspensful as the other two this movie still holds a place in the series by showing us that yes there are people behind the controls.

If you can I suggest renting "Cube" first from your local video store. All have been released on DVD so they should not be too hard to find.

Well, just thought I'd let anyone interested know.

Toodles.

I've never seen these movies, but they sound like someone had a video camera and an afternoon to kill, so they made a movie.

I'm probably going to see these movies just because you recommended them. I have a great deal of respect for you and I feel that I should at least do you the justice of seeing these movies.

Thank you very much Pantallica, If you like suspense and watching humans squirm then these movies should entertain you atleast for a little while.

MiveC, do you not have google?

Here:

Cube = http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0123755/
Cube2: HyperCube = http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0285492/
Cube:Zero = http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0377713/

I do hope that puts any fears you had of me fibbing at rest MiveC, Enjoy.

And where did I hear about all them from? Well one of the benefits of not going to Blockbuster is that what is new and "HOT" is not forced upon me when I go to my local Mom and Pop run videostore.
(Not to mention the fact they rent out movies in multiples, so 5 movies is $5 for 5 days, 10 movies is $10 for 10 days and so on)
That and the owner of said videostore is a senior citizen that has loved Star Trek since it started, so finding movies like this is not really a problem.

And no, it's not just someone with a video camera.
The production quality of these films is astounding, Cube2: Hypercube has some pretty nice CG effects. and all in all they look like they were done by large mainstream production companies (Cube:Zero was done under the umbrella of Lions Gate Films)

I'm gonna have to work to cut my posts down to a readable size methinks.

No people are just going to have to read the whole post or move on and not post. Easy as that.

BTW I tried watching Cube when it origianly came out and it seemed like the standard horror/thriller/suspense crap. Maybe if I watch Cube: Zero it will allow me to actually watch all of the Cube series. *shrugs* Who knows.

Eh, I am total physics nut, but these movies have always managed to make me wonder what the hell they were thinking I mean come on the acting in it is along the lines of softcore porn.
Good idea though, just need's better acting.

(Please don't take as flaming this is my honest oppinion)

I did not take it as flaming Draco Smile

Is everyone nervous about disagreeing with me?
Thats just the impression I'm getting, I do not know..maybe my imagination is running wild on me again.

The acting is horrible yes, (In Cube and Cube:Zero, Cube2:HyperCube was not that bad)
But the premise of the movie makes up for it in many ways. But you have to remember that they did not recruit hollywoods finest for these movies, they are low budget.

Sometimes you can actually point out times where you can tell someone is remembering their lines, yes it is bad.

But when you look past that..like many things in life..you'll see that it's not really that bad deep down.

Draco, I want you to know that you are entitled to any opinion you have and I encourage you to voice it freely and openly without fear of judgement. But..you don't need my approval for that. That is the beauty of free speech my friend!

I encourage you whole-heartedly to post your comments and opinions whenever you like, or anyone else for that matter when I say something.

Well, I think I made this post long enough heh.

Nah, Mr. Priest I wasn't so much worried about how you would feel as how every one else would see me I've been getting the whole "flaming asshat" thing lately.

And as to your comment's on the budget I completely agree with you, I did watch all of them so that does mean I did see something redeeming about the story and the creativity of the writers. I mean come on how many people would really find this an interesting approach? Not that many.

Also your right the CG was surprising for the time especially when I realised this was one underpayed budget.

Heh that's kidna wierd because about a week or so ago i was in Blockbuster ISO cheap movies, and I came across Cube 2:Hypercube. I decided to buy it (along with Starsky & Hutch and The Day after Tomorow). However, when i got home i realized that it was the first Cube. I watched it anyways, and it was pretty sweet. Nice suspense, and cool characters. Perhaps now i'll try to go back to Blockbuster and show then that tehy but a wrong movie in the wrong box, then i'll get Cube 2 for free. Or i'll jsut throw up another $4.99 for another copy of Cube 2 and hope it's actually what they say it is. All i can say is I highly recommend the series, and I am very likely to grab the rest of the series soon.
