Bots don't lag the server. The only thing wrong with the server is the R/Ds.

And the faks behind this argument would be?

A bot that automatically creates game after game as fast as possible does casue lag. I mean if the bot doesnt communicates with server faster than you would and you would do exaclty the same amount of runs without a bot then the bot would be rather useless wouldnt it.
And the extra security checks that blizz were forced to add due to bots, biggest pain being the the timer between joining games that bans you temperarily if you join a new game to fast.

If you people cannot understand why you're the ones ruining the game, and why it's pathetic you're doing so, no one can ever talk sense to you. Yeah banning the cheaters permanently would be the only fair solution, setting temp bans and additional checks as they have been doing wont get rid off cheaters, it will only make things harder for legit players.

The only reason a bot moves faster than an actual person is because it's programmed to use the least amount of steps as possible. It communicates to B.net's servers, which most likely, move at T3 speeds. Thus meaning, it's DL will DL anyone's UL faster, thus meaning it doesn't lag. So, please, stop.

What a brilliant reason to bot, it causes less stress on the Battle.net server then legitimate players. I'm sure Blizzard would commend you for your noble efforts. Oh wait, all of the new server side security they had to implement more than makes up for your super efficient bots? Imagine that. Think before you speak next time.

It lags indirectly....200k people on at a time...180k of em bot...thre shud be some difference between 20k people and 180k people :devilish:

back before the regular rd's came into play. yes bots lagged the server. jhj was designed to kill pindle as fast as possible. if u watch jhj at work the sorc appears to teleport in town or move faster then normal. each run lasted under a minute or so and with a massive amount of people using jhj at once, clicking create game at pretty much synchronized times, lagging the server was inevitable. now d2jsp bots have randomized delays attatched to them so i doubt they will be detected.

as for this new patch or serverside packet, i havent been on d2 in some time or downloaded it so its unfair for me to say anything about it.

as for botting i find if you have the brilliance in being able to get a bot to work efficiently... the riches should be yours..., i find botting to be like christmas every morning. but yes it does hurt the economy. i think maphack would be alright for people if bnet created a version of it that only shows the map... whats the harm in seeing where the monsters are?

and im wondering if this ban has passed on.


and to the guy who said he plays hardcore: umm... how many people do u know actually have told u or hinted that they bot in hardcore? im sure there would be one lag spike at the wrong time and kill their character anyway

Please read my post again as it seems you only read part of it. My point is that bots cause more strain on the servers since they create more games than a regular player would. Its rather simple to check so don't take my word for it, just compare your bandwidth usage when playing normally for a week, next week do your botted game and monitor the bandwidth usage.

well i dont know about the banning but everyone that said that there d2jsp wont work is right mine stoped working 2 days ago but hey it's not the end of the world pepole just play the old way MANUALY it still works and you wont get banned for it LOL it gives you the ability to try out new chars i know i did a amazon that runs around and just punches everything (doubt it'll be any good after act 1) but hey it's funny when you get in that pack around bishop LOL give it a try

Silver_Ice, the reason there was the long wait lines and shit was because B.net decided to take away some of their server space as a way to prevent botting, it wasn't for WoW or anything, it was anti-botting measures. So I guess in that aspect you could say it did lag the servers, even though it wasn't lag, just long waits. And the teleport thing was client side, if you brought someone into that game to monitor you, they'd see you run. =\

Botters leave their bots on while sleeping or when they got to work, school or whatever. A regular player wouldn't do this so this extra strain on the servers would not exist without bots and therefore it is caused by bots.
