I was on open bnet today, and some kid dropped an Anni charm. He said if I didn't give him something in return, he would turn control on and take my character over. Is this possible?

Actually, on open that's quite possible. I've seen items that when you equip them you can't move and shit, crazy stuff on open. There's no patches so people can do a lot of shit on it. Watch yourself on open sometimes. =\

But as far as overtaking your character client side..highly doubtful..So long as you don't take any action with instruction from another player..you've got absolutely nothing to worry about..regardless all the puppet hacks require some sort of bridge..some action you have to do to make it possible..type a command..pick up an item..download a program..etc. Jus use a little common sense & you've got nothing to fear..& if all else fails type .crash and the games history..hehe..assuming you have that command avail to you

i saw a thing on open that was wieeerdy, if i hit him in duel he just knew my account password.
and i picked up some stuff he droped and he got my pass...but i changed it very fast.

Picking up the items I can understand..you're willfully accepting something from his end..thats no different than clicking accept on a file transfer since items do after all transfer packets. Packets containing data..potentially malicious data. Simply hitting someone in a duel to reveal your account pass I don't believe. Ofcourse considering again you're not picking up any items..clicking on anything out of the ordinary..or typing any commands. Little common sense goes a a long way against scammers..I had a guy one time tell me I'd be level 99 maxed all stats on realm & my gear would become "godly" and all I had to do was type +realmhack (account name)/////(password)
"sigh" some people's kids..but seriously..a little common sense will keep you safe from quite a bit..like games that say "Free for Trust" Ya you're an idiot if you join those..or the games that say "I teach you (insert something here) usually "Make SOJ" or "Dupe"" Yeah bad news too..simply put if you need to jon games to learn things from other players..you probably shouldn't be trying to do what it is you are Happy Gamin

This isn't someone taking control of your character is just an item that has Nv State 54 on it. This attribute just makes it so you can't move and you can't pick up any of your stuff. Nv=Not Visible so you won't be able to see the attribute in the game but if you open your character up in Zonfire you can see it and get rid of it.

The way the game is set up he cannot take control of your charactor. Might be an 'immature 12 year old' or just someone with a low IQ. Or thinks you are an idiot... or doesn't know how to dupe on open bent heh.

there is no hack to control other characters, because items are made of very small bits of data, and a virus or program wouldnt fit inside one. some hacked charms can make people turn into a werebear if u equip them or make you not move. anything else is bs.

Silver Ice is right, the max size for the entire save file where all items are stored is 8kb, anything higher than that will corrupt the character

neways i dont c y ppl bother playing open bnet cause ive never played and i have a char thats maxed out every where i mean hes a lvl 99 plus all skills are 99 and strnght dex vitality and energie are all at 1032 wich is the max without any charms or what ever, if u want to beat other players you just need the best hacked items thats all, and i have done the whole game without even playing. its just hacking and its boring i can have any items or equipement i want so i dont see a challenge in that thats why i dont bother with open. but anything or almost anything kan b done on open so if ur into hacking and stuff well good for u and keep playing like that if thats what makes you happy. really sry if this sounds harsh at all but even on closed ppl try to scam so just b carefull of what you wana do

i dont worry about shit on open because you can make your own items and it doesnt matter if you lose an anni or ten just dupe some more and if you lose a soj dupe a hundred more

I use hero editor only for making items. I still play through the game entirely.
