The GTA Scandal
#1
Everyone knows GTA isn't for kids. Is it surprising there's unused codes pertaining to getting laid?

No, not really. What do you think about the recent GTA bullshit? I beat GTA: SA 100% and I never got laid. You have to deliberately download a patch for a modded XBox or the PC version to even do it. While the lucky lady is playing with you.. hell, you're so gangster you don't even have to remove your pants. Yet, the mainstream news is so biased they blur out CJ's crotch.

It's understandable that they gave it an A for adults rating. Blurred out or not, any type of sex scene is for adults only since some stores let kids buy the rated M game, even as young as 12. Most parents will agree with the new rating.

if you get to like 80% w/a girlfriend you get laid.

i dont get it.. most kids these days know many things about life but ppl r trying to stop them in video games.. the adults r trying to prevent kids from watching / playing with adult things but it really isnt do much. and yet, nintendo had to make a playboy game and let most the world know, the rating really do nothin to the ppl, ppl gotta make money, no body cares about ratings

*has strange images of watching a nun play the playboy game*
God damn religion! *shakes fist* its's like adults dont want kids to have fun. First i cant play football on the park, now people my age cant even buy a game. No wonder there are so many emo people around.

Like DBD said, you have to do a shitload of stuff to actually get the scene yet the news doesn't say shit about it. They just say it's in the game, which it's actually not, it's in a program on the internet that you have to download. The news is so hellbent on getting ratings for themselves that they don't even bother to give the full story. It's just like all the people who say news is biased towards one political party over the other, except in this case, they're biased towards stupid bullshit that doesn't matter.

And another thing. All these people who say they're influenced by video games to do crimes? Is it just me or are parents not stepping in and actually PARENTING? It's not the games, it's that the parents allow the kids to play the games. **** that shit.

Mature: Game is intended for 17+.

Adults Only: Game is intended for 18+.

What a useful change of ratings, thank God our kids will be safe now.

I don't think anyone could say it better, its not the kids fault or the designer of the game, manufacturer or even the mod makers, its the parents fault for letting the kids play it.

Wanna know the biggest injustice of this all? Rockstar is reworking the game to make it HARDER to mod. I'm sorry, but once one game company starts it every game company is gonna start it. That's the true B.S. of all this.

This just seem's to be the dumbest thing ever in games. I swear companies don't even care about the hardcore players and fans who enjoy modding up thier games to make them even better. I can name three game's that would have sucked with out modability, (well not so much as sucked, but deffinetly would have been less entertaining)

Morrowind
CounterStrike
Unreal Tournament 2004.

Those three game's had the best ****ing mods ever and when I look at them with out modding I can't help, but think they would have fell short on thier way to greatness.

In my opinion, the big deal here isn't the parenting. Yeah, San Andreas has MILD accounts of sex and sexual themed parts modless. However, there was NO trace of actual intercourse in the real game. The big deal is parents got this game for kids, probably knowing how violent and curse-ridden it is(who doesn't by now??) but semi-clean on the porno side. Rockstar basically HID this from the ESRB. And Mr. Fab, your sources are actuall wrong...

It's not an actual "mod" in the sense that it adds/changes coding of the game. The codes for this have always been in the game. Any programmer knows there's unsed coding in a project. Sometimes, you remove it for its useless-ness, sometimes you don't. Rockstar apparantly made this feature for their personal "enjoyment," but basically disabled it when the game got released. Some kid found this unused code in the MODDED XBOX AND COMPUTER(good luck getting blown on your PS2.. can't happen lol) and simply made a patch to activate it.

The big deal here isn't some mod that makes gameplay dirty.. it's more of a patch that makes a dirtier game even worse. A part of a game that was ALWAYS there, just hidden. And honestly, truth be known, Rockstar never really intended for the game to be played with this feature. Nobody wants an AO rated game. Nobody carries the goddamned things. The local videostore doesn't even keep the playboy game on the shelves. You gotta ask for it.. Where's the business in that? As many 18+ year olds play GTA, it's probably safe to say 5x more children play that game. Parents(god, I hope they wouldn't) buy an adult rated game, and stores damn well better not sell them an adult rated game.

See where I'm going? The parents really aren't to blame in this spot IMO and neither are rockstar IMHO. Whoever uses this mod.. it's their choice. I'd put my money Rockstar never wanted anyone to play this mod, and they did their best (short of deleting the void code) to hide it. After seeing (not using, but seeing videos) of this mod, it's not a big deal. You see cyber ****. So what? Google monkey porn, you get 500x worse results
